It's great to have high standards of oneself. But there's a real danger in having unrealistic expectations.
I'm sure a lot of you have perfectionistic traits like I do. It could be seen innocently when you taking an extra hour to complete something that others would deem satisfactory, or it can be manifest in dark depressive battles within your inner psyche.
On this episode I take notes from a research paper that finds the noted increase in perfectionism is also increasing the risk of mental health issues.
My remedy. Imperfectionism. The habit of acknowledging, owning and challenging ones imperfections.
