I know it's been awhile since we have made a post, there have been lots of changes in our lives but were getting back after it in the recording studio. We have some big plans we're wanting to add to the podcast, but it will take some time. That being said I came across this article and I thought it was worth sharing. We have talked about this topic before on the podcast but what this author writes was a good reminder.
I have been down this road before and it is not fun. But, I also have my own spin on this reality that a lot of hunters go through. First, When hunting and fishing becomes your identity and when your trying to make a name for yourself in the hunting world it can become your god. (Who knew that when your earthly passion becomes an addiction that it will make you miserable.) Who we are in Christ is a million times more important than a big bull or buck hanging on the wall. Second, I have also missed out on so many important moments with my family its embarrassing. Family has to be priority over catching fish or killing a trophy. I am truly blessed to have a wife that supports my love for hunting and fishing, but her and the kids need to know that under Christ they are my number one priority.
I still love the outdoors and I will be out there sitting in my saddle trying to kill that big deer but not at the expense of my relationship with Christ or my family. I hope everyone has a great hunting season this year! Just keep in mind the real, pure reason we do what we do and who we are in Christ.
