Yes, it sounds obvious— even redundant but in the holiday season especially we as business owners tend to “hustle harder” than any other time of year.

But where does that get you if you burn yourself out? Less present with clients, more scattered-less specific with the amount of projects accumulating, and a swelling feeling of “obligation” and “shoulds”...

Let’s work from Joy and rest and the mindset of Wanting rather than “having to...”

For me this often looks like, meditation, stillness and journaling BEFORE writing the to-do lists.

How do you maximize engagement while fighting against the algorithm?

To optimize your post use this checklist:

⊹ always tag your location! posts with location tags get higher engagement than those without.

⊹ correctly sized, clear, aesthetic image! nothing blurry (unless intentional for effect) or screenshot quality images.

⊹ engaging and fascinating caption! you want to draw your readers and keep them from scrolling past. Have a call to action (swipe up, click here, visit this...)

⊹ no typos! grammatical errors, wrong punctuation... however you want your brand to look.

⊹ relevant hashtags: 30-researched relevant hashtags within the caption

⊹ the first 15 minutes after sharing are the most critical time in the life cycle for a post. you want the most amount of views as possible during this time. use Instagram insights to learn your peak posting time.

Do you ever open up Instagram and feel as if you’ve been sucked into a black hole?

It’s important as a brand or business to use your time on social media intentionally with a purpose and plan.

Here’s a daily checklist—which takes no longer than 30 minutes— to stay engaged and stay social while authentically growing by building organic and relevant connections.

•Respond to all comments on your most recent post. Increase your engagement even further by responding with a question. Don’t just respond with an emoji (something I too have been guilty of).

•Respond to DM’s. And always always check your requests folder! Loyal relationships are cultivated in these direct messages.

•Engage with hashtags you use. Like and comment on top posts within your most used hashtags. High quality comments on relevant posts increases your chances of making even more networking connections.

•Comment on posts in your feed. Stay engaged and consistent with people you actually follow.

•Show up in your stories —daily! Being active in stories increases your visibility and keeps people coming back for more.
