Phoebe’s “I’m Bored” cards featured in the West Australian on the weekend. She is actually very humble and surprised with how popular her cards are.

They are the words every parent fears — but one Perth youngster has managed to turn the dreaded ‘I’m bored’ phrase into a potential money-spinner.

This is 12yo Phoebe. During the covid-19 time she designed and wrote a deck of 54 cards with activities for kids to do when they’re bored. The idea is they pull a card, then they have to do the activity!

Measuring 5x7cm, they are mini-sized, so are easy for little ones to handle*

Phoebe wrote these as creative expression and a personal project. But given that she is inundated with requests for a deck, we thought we’d make these available for a short time only to people outside her friends-and-family.

(Phoebe is managing the money, the orders and the fulfilment, as an exercise in "small business basics", hence these are not being put up for sale via regular channels.)

We will place our re-print order with the printer on Monday 15 June. You can expect your delivery approx 3 weeks after that.

Malcolm Turnbull wants to remove the restrictions on the parallel importation of books, which prevents the dumping of overseas editions onto the Australian market where a local edition is already in print. It's presently the subject of an inquiry by the Productivity Commission, which has previously favoured lifting the restrictions, arguing that it would force down the price of books. ---> End result?
