Milestone Casting Studios - 400 Eastern Ave , Toronto, ON

Join us for a full day behind the scenes of a ‘casting session’ where each actor will have the opportunity to audition in front of the class and receive adjustments, critique and feedback from casting. You will have the opportunity to prepare two scenes prior to the workshop and a cold-read scene on the day. All participants will receive one-on-one feedback at the end of the day and be sent home with a link to their taped scenes and a personal evaluation.

This workshop will provide participants with valuable insight into the audition process with specific feedback from Melissa. Actors will gain useful auditioning techniques and learn how to impress casting directors with confidence, knowledge & preparation. The workshop also covers business, self-tape prep & technique and how to market yourself successfully.
Actors will be chosen by the casting director and the class has a maximum of 10 participants.

Melissa A. Smith (CDC) is a Toronto-based Casting Director and was named Playback Magazine's Top 5 To Watch for 2016. Melissa's credits include Letterkenny (CraveTV), What Would Sal Do (HBO Canada), Indian Horse (Screen Siren Films/Steve Campenelli), Cardinal Seasons 1-3 (CTV), Two Lovers & A Bear (eOne/Kim Nguyen), Away From Everywhere (Quiet Revolution Pictures/Morag Loves Company/Justin Simms), His Master's Voice (Quiet Revolution Pictures) and more. Through her production company, Opal Entertainment, Melissa is currently producing Spare Parts with Hangar 18 Media and Everest with Fairmount Films.

They are looking for:
Young girls with unique hair that they love!
● Girls of any ethnicity who are about 5-14 years of age.
● Girls with afros, natural redheads, blondes, brunettes, curly hair, wild hair, funky undercuts, spikes,
bob-style, long and short hair, bold hair with temporary hair chalk, etc. MUST have natural hair, no extensions or chemical treatments or permanent colour treatments!
● Girls who have confidence and are fun loving with great energy

Those chosen for this campaign will receive $3000+ to be involved.

hair and why you choose to style it the way you do despite pressures to change it from society or peers. If
you don’t have a specific story, please just tell us what you love about your hair.
6.​ Confirmation that you are NOT a model, actor, reality TV participant, and that you do not have any prior
professional experience in front of the camera
