𝗜𝘀 𝗜𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗳 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼-𝗧𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗩𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹𝘀?

Do you think tuning, either using Auto-Tune or manually pitch correcting your vocals is considered cheating?

Would you rather get the best take without any processing or are you a fan of tuning plugins?

Most of the professional songs you hear use some form of tuning and in today's musical landscape you're in direct competition with artists that use pitch correction and more tools to sound great.

Even the best singers out there have engineers perform minor fixes if needed.

There's even people whose entire job is just to use software like Celemony Melodyne to correct vocals and pitch and time them to perfection.

But does this make it right?

Some people absolutely hate the idea of pitch correction and transforming your voice to sound "better" than you would in real life.

On the other hand, some artists ONLY rely on plugins like Auto-Tune to give them the sound they want, and it's actually really fun to sing into Auto-Tune, especially if you aren't the greatest singer.

When we're in the studio with an artist, we always go by their preference and usually most people ask for some form of tuning.

How do you start songs?

Some like to play guitar and get some chords, some start with vocals, humming a melody, some start on piano.
