Good morning and happy Tuesday, it's bright in places today, mostly dry and cloudy.

Hurrah we have entered a dry phase of weather: much quieter, with an absence of most winter type hazards (other than fog). High pressure is in charge! She will influence our weather for the rest of the week.

It's quite a nice morning in my location, I'm feeling blessed to be in sunshine. Most locations are dry and rather bright; there could be the odd drizzly shower, particularly around coasts or hills, more especially later.

Quite a bright or even sunny morning for most, tending to become somewhat less sunny, although remaining bright in places this afternoon with a lot of cloud.

The odd location may be misty, merky or quite dull if there's an absence of clear spells.

There is an interesting temperature profile in the UK: warm north, chilly south. Although this pattern is and will slowly moderate, it's a balmy 13C, 55F in the north and 8C from the MIdlands south.

I'm still looking at the *potential for storms as our weather pattern changes again, could it become wet and windy or will it continue dry high to end January?

Thanks so much for tuning in and I will be back later with more on next/ following week's potential for a storm? All a long way off in the land of weather. Have a fantastic day Jason's Weather Window🌫☁️🌥🌤☀️

Good evening, here's a wee idea of the possible trends as we head into February - is winter finished with us? Is it time to turn down the heating?!

A mild, cloudy week to come especially in the NW, where it will be windy and you could catch the occasional light shower. Remaining chilly in the SE, mostly dry.

Becoming chillier again this weekend, with more of a continental flow influencing the weather, especially in the South and East of the UK. Mostly dry. some rain possible in the far west.

It will become extremely cold in the US next week, which will influence our weather in the UK. Continuing largely cloudy, chilly and dry next week before the jet stream fires up, with cold Arctic air meeting subtropical Atlantic air: wind and rain on the way!

I must suggest to you at this point that a number of the models are trying to build a Scandinavian high at this time indicated (That's the kind of thing that can bring a Beast from the East) so it's not a done deal yet?

I do think it is something worth the watch, however, at this stage, I expect....
The strong jet will bring wind storms to the northwest of Europe. I do think the Scandi High has a chance of building and during the winter forecast, I suggest it might try to happen during February? (That's what the winter forecast suggested was possible, all be it later in the month?)

We live in interesting waether times. There was a 30 degree temperature difference in the North of Scotland between Saturday morning and this morning! Astonishing! Could it flip back to cold again?

I will leave it at that today; despite the mundane weather, we have an exciting story to develop this week? Is winter over or will she return?

Thank you so much for tuning in! Have a fantastic week! Jason's Weather Window

Good morning, it's much milder now that we are in an Atlantic flow once more, the westerlies have returned!

It looks so strange without the snow on the ground this morning!

There could be an Ice rish in the South and East in particular this morning as the thaw continues.

Mostly dry and cloudy for most today. A few light rain or drizzle showers may affect the NW, coasts or hill locations occasionally.

No frost tonight, or this week, a full week ahead as always later: mild, dry south, mixed north.

Have a great Monday and bye bye Frosty the Snowman!

Good day to you from Jason's Weather Window! How are you? Happy Sunday, do click onto the images for further detail.... it's cloudy and there have been mist, fog, frost and fog issues this morning; it was bitterly cold again with double digit negative figures for Scotland and a very cold one for Eastern UK in general.

There is an east west split in the weather, with the east being brightest, driest and coldest; cloudy, milder, breezing picking up with light riain into the west by evening AKA the end of the cold spell!

Temperatures are really struggling in Central, Northern and Eastern locations at 3 or 4C, becoming mild on the west coast and for Ireland today at 6 - 8C with a southwesterly wind.

A little first in the SE this evening before light rain brings a change to dry and from tomorrow away from the Northwest?
"Mixed" in the Northwest this week, with cloud, SW'ly winds, rain from time to time. Drier and brighter South and East. Mildest North and West next week!

Have a fantastic week ahead, Jason ☀️☁️☀️☁️

Good morning to you, Peter Ribbeck Photography has been out at night, what a shot from Westkilbribe. It's an awesome location, I've walked by here on most days this year so far! Awesome Ayrshire by the Clyde! Have a great day

Arran and West Kilbride under the moonlight. I took this last night and waited for a passing car to create the light trail.

Another freezing cold night in the east, becoming less cold in the west later; ice risk for most, except far SW🥶

Just how cold is it? How cold has it been this January? You'll be surprised!

The CET is sitting at 1.8C, which makes this January on par with 2010 (SO FAR) and we have to go back to 1987 before we observed a colder start to January!

That is a long time!! I have to say that the stats for Scotland are much colder than the national stats.

There we have it! Amazing UK wide stats for first half of January!!

Good day to you! Here was my astrological winter forecast (2024/25), so far so good but is that the cold finished with us?

Hello there, we have a little light and patchy snow in Western Scotland today, always more sleety towards the coast. It should generally fizzle out in situ. This should be the last of any snow for the foreseeable future.

Good morning to you and welcome to your weekend forecast!

Well what a night, down to -18C!! An Ice Day for many today again (away from the coast and SW), however it will be our last one, possible for a while?

It's a beautiful sunny Saturday for the east, bitterly cold, wherever you go. Snow is affecting the West of Scotland this morning (rain/sleet/wet snow at coast) and into this afternoon, however it should fizzle out and is unlikely to cause too many issues.

The images show sunshine, clouds, wind and precipitation (mostly snow).

Today's numbers, an Ice Day for most, especially North/ east/ with snow cover or if it's snowing. A few degrees above zero at the coast and SW of England , where it will eventually become quite mild, especially later.

Sunday will be less bitterly cold, although it will still feel chilly, especially in the north and east; much less so than on any other day this year. The milder trend will strengthen for a while next week but will it get cold again? It certainly looks to be less mild a week out from now but I'm not expecting any extreme winter weather when the cold spell goes, for a while, if at all. More on this with a musing later as it's complicated and I think I'm just going to sit on my ideas, observe the data and will get back with a forecast that runs out for weeks, just as I like them.

Thank you so much for being part of Jason's Weather Window.
