Job hunt habits I used to land my remote work-from-home nurse positions! Yes, positions with an “s”!
To date, I’ve accepted 2 work-from-home jobs. Interviewed with countless others and professionally declined dozens of offers (that just didn’t make sense to me for this season of my life and/or financially).
These 5 habits I’ve devloped over the last 6+ years of remote job hunting.
Biggest habits that changed the whole job search hunt for me was #2 & #5!
P.S these habits arent just for nurses but all heathcare workers can use them as well
🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩Red Flags🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩
Time and time again I see SCAMMERS preying on remote work-from-home job seekers!
Here are 4 quick tips to keep handy when searching and applying to remote work from home or any job position.
🚩No extra info just here’s the job, maybe the company name and not other info like job descriptions
🚩🚩They ask for your social security number!!! Never and I mean never freely give it out. After an offer letter, HR will reach out to you to fill out W2/W9 or 1099 forms
🚩🚩🚩The company requests that you email them all your info for hiring. No phone calls no virtual interviews just email.
🚩🚩🚩🚩In the interview process when you ask about the procedure for hiring and they don't believe in offer letters and/or never issue one... RUN
These are the biggest first-hand red flags I most commonly come across!
Any nurse or healthcare worker looking to make a job change please keep this in mind!
Remote work-from-home jobs are out here just stay safe and make sure the jobs are legit
It's FRIDAY!
No better place day or time to SAY IT OUT LOUD!
“I BELIEVE IN ME”
No matter the circumstances, the current issues, or the climate you're in be it work or in your personal life, believe in yourself!
👉Want that raise, go for it
👉Health journey? Start it
👉Want to start a business? Get it!
As you finish out your work week, or for my weekend warriors starting your work week remember this!
You've got it!
✨I don’t know who needs this right now but I’m here to tell you it’s okay to say no.
👉If you need a break, say no
👉Want a day off, say no
👉Have life going on and just can’t, say no
👏Support yourself & your own growth by knowing your limits, understanding balance vs “what you can handle”
I find myself sometimes confusing the “yeah I can do that for a little bit” with true balance!
Life is crazy busy but knowing it’s okay to say no is okay
A prime example for me:
I planned to be in Ft. Worth for a horse show but had to say no because of the mountain of life stuff going on right now.
It wasn’t an easy no but it was a no/decision that I had to make for my sanity, and it’s okay
Happy Birthday Mom we love you 💗💕
“Love the life you live. Live the life you love.” -Bob Marley
3 signs you’re stuck & ready for a change ✨
Don’t get me wrong change can be scary! But it’s also invigorating!
We recently just packed all our stuff and moved…🚛…
The change was exciting but hard, scary, and yet electrifying.
I mean no one wants to pack let alone go through all your stuff 🫣but we did it!
While contemplating this thought I started to reflect on the last couple of years and what my catalyst of change was to jump into the hunt for the perfect work-from-home job as a nurse 👩💻
Talk about a cute but lazy coworker 💤
The most handsome good boy just taking a little nappo on my lap desk
Life of a stay-at-home/work-from-home dog mom
What I’ve learned over the last year was a hard lesson.
I went from riding the wave of feeling pressured to stay consistent to growing my media outreach. To help others and be “heard” I had to turn out content like a machine.
For those of you that know me know that last year was HARD, like HARD HARD.
Family health issues, NP school, oh, and planning a wedding.
Then in Sept, I was offered an amazing position. (Working from home of course)
I jumped at it, and found myself working not just 1 really awesome but 2!
In that span of time, life started getting hard again, with deadlines, and no days off. Working/training/wedding planning it all started to compile not to mention my life outside of this showing horses, my family, friends, and time with my husband.
Needless to say, I took a couple of breaks from social media, from the constant stream.
I turned down new opportunities, decreased coaching others, and said no to companies that wanted to work with me because I simply did not have any more to give.
The moral of my long-winded captions is this. -I can take breaks on my way to success 👉& it’s okay
Retreat, relax and come back renewed
So if you find yourself in a similar situation just know it’s more than okay to take a break or several breaks!
Run your own race, you set your success and never forget that
Can we just take a moment for the dress 😍!! It has pockets
I absolutely love my wedding dresses! The first 1 for the ceremony was perfection 💕
Are amazing to work with. Huge selection of designers and excellent service with alterations I can not recommend them enough! Ellie and her staff are THE BEST in the industry

These two are handling work today 🐶🐶
👉So if you get an email at noon that shows I'm out of the office it just means they want to go play ball in the yard, and get pup cups 🥤
🤦♀️😂but who can blame them?
I literally got up to grab some coffee and can back to this

Still dreaming over here on ☁️ 9!
I can’t believe how beautiful everything turned out for the wedding!

It’s only been a week but dang was it a day to remember 😍
I’m going to apologize in advance for all the wedding posts headed your way…I’m obsessed

M.... The last letter in D.R.E.A.M In reality, it may be the last letter but it's truly the driving force in making our dreams come true! Motivation comes from both internal and external factors driving your decision-making. Motivation as an action verb is a resume buzzword that jobs love to hear and see especially ones that are remote or work from home- “motivated to learn” “self-starter” It’s also something at times we can lack or on the opposite end of the spectrum led us to overextend ourselves. Balanced motivation means having boundaries and knowing your limits all while working towards making your dreams a reality Baby steps towards your dreams centered on knowing you're why #thenursekristen #remotenurse #remotenurselife #remotenursejobs #workfromhome #workfromhomelife #workfromhomenurse #criticalcarenursing #rn #lpn #lvn #nursepodcaster #np #arnp #arnpstudent #nonbedsidenursingjobs #wfhnurse #wfhnurselife #nurseinspiration
ATTITUDE This can make or break you…in an interview, new relationship, in a business transaction, online, or day-to-day life The energy or attitude you put out is what you’re going to get back. Already feel defeated before you take that chance? Start a new project? Then you’ve already set yourself up for failure. But it’s not permanent and it is reversible! In a recent convo I had with a fellow #healthcareworker he told me the group interview felt more like a hazing than an actual interview for a job…yikes! So we talked about their attitudes: towards his growth and professional development, and the companies/hiring manager and director's stance on it when he asked You can gain a lot of insight into what a job's potential work environment, atmosphere, and culture are like during the interview. The same is true in day-to-day interactions. The last part of the attitude I’ll share is this: be wary of influencers so-called educators/mentors that use drama and attitude for shock value. Pay attention to how they interact with others it shows a lot about who they are and their character. If they aren’t open to learning and growing themselves it’s a big 🚩 #thenursekristen #remotenurse #remotenurselife #remotenursejobs #workfromhome #workfromhomelife #workfromhomenurse #criticalcarenursing #rn #lpn #lvn #nursepodcaster #np #arnp #arnpstudent #nonbedsidenursingjobs #wfhnurse #wfhnurselife #wahnurse #wahnurselife #workfromhomejobs #workfromhomenursejobs
📝🖥💼EDUCATION 🎓📚💻 This is the middle letter and center of DREAM… Does it mean the traditional form of education, nope! The meaning of the word in the acronym DREAM stands for much more than just schooling Education comes from a place of willingness to learn, to stretch yourself in new areas, and absorb info to enlighten and improve one’s self Education for me meant grad school, researching areas that fuel my passions, and educating others My summer goals & habits I want to work on encompass education: teaching, learning, coaching, and working to improve my personal, and professional life What type of summer education or topic interest you? #thenursekristen #remotenurse #remotenurselife #remotenursejobs #workfromhome #workfromhomelife #workfromhomenurse #criticalcarenursing #rn #lpn #lvn #nursepodcaster #np #arnp #arnpstudent #nonbedsidenursingjobs #wfhnurse #wfhnurselife
In the next phase of DREAM We have R: Responsibility Much like D: Dedication, Responsibility is not only an excellent action verb to omit to prospective employers but it's important to embody the word as well. If you're a new student trying to get into nursing #nursingstudent or a #nurse trying to get into #crnaschool or #arnpschool or even a new grad that's applying to your first job.... No matter the circumstance responsibility and being responsible is a sought after characteristics trait I'll leave you with this, take responsibility today for your future. Sit down and list your growth, where you want to be in 6 months, 1 year, 5 years, and 10 years from now. The first step in living your DREAM is DEDICATION & RESPONSIBILITY You've got this! Never forget that #thenursekristen #workfromhomenurse #arnp #Dreamjob #nursepractitionersofinstagram #nursesofinstagram
Day 1: Always Dream If you haven’t already check out the introductory post of D.R.E.A.M Day 👆 D: Dedication On the surface, this series is not only designed to inspire but also to educate! For instance dedication to your craft/ family/own health is an admirable trait that takes daily decision-making and action. Dedication is what it takes to land that job, get through school, run your first 5k or in my case get fit for my wedding! ***managers directors hiring staff want to see dedication, in interviews, that’s what they are looking for! ***resume buzz word*** ***interview tip*** Have your version/ story/ example of what dedication means to you! How you’ve shown dedication and followed through ***dedication in personal life*** Means healthy choices, boundaries, and constant lateral movement to improvement- daily ***Beware Toxic Dedication*** Don’t allow yourself to get trapped by others using dedication to keep you stagnant, remember? Constant lateral movement I talked about above. *I’ve heard it, seen it, and experienced it. It’s what I call a scare tactic to keep people from growing- sometimes done on purpose but mostly subconsciously by others, bosses, and organizations. How will you implement some D, into your life, (yes I know what I did there)? #thenursekristen #remotenurse #remotenurselife #remotenursejobs #workfromhome #workfromhomelife #workfromhomenurse #criticalcarenursing #rn #lpn #lvn #nursepodcaster #np #arnp #arnpstudent #nonbedsidenursingjobs #wfhnurse #wfhnurselife #wahnurse #wahnurselife #workfromhomejobs #workfromhomenursejobs
Always Dream! No matter what! This video series is much like FOCUS (did a few months ago) Is a strategic acronym for growth! Not just in your professional life but personal as well! As you can see each letter stands for a more in-depth meaning or Dream! Over the next few weeks, I’ll be breaking down each letter and its personal and professional meaning to me! I’ll be challenging you all along the way to rethink your traditional approach to work, school, and life! So join me on this journey of growth 💗 #thenursekristen #remotenurse #remotenurselife #remotenursejobs #workfromhome #workfromhomelife #workfromhomenurse #criticalcarenursing #rn #lpn #lvn #nursepodcaster #np #arnp #arnpstudent #nonbedsidenursingjobs #wfhnurse #wfhnurselife #wahnurse #wahnurselife #workfromhomejobs #workfromhomenursejobs #dreamjob
3…. 2… 1… Just like that NP school has come to a close, graduation has commenced 🎓 I’ve worked my 🍑off for this RN 🔜 ARNP Next step is boards 🙃…. Where’s all my fellow recent grads? A red horse! I've always had a soft spot for a red horse. Why a red horse... Those of you that aren't horse inclined may think cute picture, how sweet Backstory: This is Peanut, in the first picture I'm only 7 yrs old and he's 4. In the second picture (taken a few days ago) he's 26, and that horseshoe is from his show days ie at least 15 years ago In case you didn't know the Kentucky Derby ran on Saturday and a horse against the odds won it! That horse Rich Strike is a red horse ♥️ He's an underdog that got the chance of a lifetime to run his best race Why is this important or how does it translate to healthcare or nursing? Because we have the chance to run our best race, turn the establishment upside down and be our best! Inspiration and most importantly HOPE can come from anywhere! Rich Strikes' story is amazing, here's your sign apply for the job, take the risk, start that company, go out on a limb and run your best race 🏁 Don't count yourself out! Rich Strike and his jockey didn't and neither should you! #thenursekristen #remotenurse #remotenurselife #remotenursejobs #workfromhome #workfromhomelife #workfromhomenurse #criticalcarenursing #rn #lpn #lvn #nursepodcaster #np #arnp #arnpstudent #nonbedsidenursingjobs #richstrike #redhorse #kentuckyderby
