Everything you need to know before visiting Cinque Terre for #eurosummer Tips for a great trip!
Stay a couple of nights in one of the towns. You’ll get to see the towns after all the daytrippers have left and you’ll have a good amount of time to explore all the beautiful corners
Bring good walking shoes - Leave the cute but uncomfy shoes behind, as you’ll be on stairs, dirt, and cobblestone throughout your stay
Don’t plan on driving here - Take the train in between the towns, or you can even hike. Even if you do bring a car from another part of Italy, you have to park it in a public lot and leave it, as you can’t drive in the towns
Don’t bring huge luggage - The towns are all on impressive hills, and you won’t want to be carrying heavy bags up and down the very narrow and steep steps. Trust me, I made this mistake myself and wish I had had smaller and lighter bags!
Don’t pay for individual tickets, buy a train pass. If you buy a pass, you have unlimited rides and it will pay for itself, in case you want to visit one of the towns just for dinner or something.
If you visit in the summer, treat it like a beach vacay where you bring a bathing suit, a sunhat, and sunscreen. It gets hot and the sun is brutal, make sure to protect yourself!
Eat all the pasta and pizza. You’re in Italy, carbs don’t count here.
Have I convinced you to go??
