Officer David Harriman responded to a call after a 59-year-old woman accidentally submerged her truck in more than 8 feet of water. The woman was able to escape from the vehicle but her dog remained trapped.

Harriman, an avid dog lover, removed his gun belt and dove into the water in an effort to rescue the stranded pooch.

"It's kind of like a family member to most people, and you gotta get it out, if you can," said Harriman.

The third-generation farmer says he decided the quickest way to warm up the calf, named Leroy, would be to use his hot tub. Dean said Leroy is "done hot-tubbing" but "sunbathing out in the grass is definitely in his future."

"They swam right toward the boat," Tom said. "Then they started to circle the boat. They were looking up like they needed help." Tom knew they had to get the deer out of the water if they were to survive.

The deer willingly came on-board and sat on the deck. One of the deer was hypothermic so Tom administered massage to warm him. "The last one was in really poor shape. He was very hypothermic. I massaged him for 20 minutes trying to warm him up. He bleated like a little lamb. I think he was appreciative."
