Cinco de Mayo commemorates the 1861 battle of Puebla fought during the French-Mexican War.

The invading French army marched on the city of Puebla de Los Angeles with 6,000 French soldiers against 2,000 Loyal Mexicans, including many members of indigenous heritage. The battle lasted from dawn till dusk, with the defending Mexicans killing 5 Frenchmen for every Mexican. Mexican President Benito Juarez, a member of the indigenous Zapotec tribe and Texas born General Ignacio Zaragoza led the defense of Puebla and are celebrated figures in Mexican history. In the 1960’s activists working in support of indigenous Mexicans popularized the commemoration of Cinco de Mayo, identifying with the strong roles of President Juarez and brave indigenous defenders.

Parades, music, dancing and preparing traditional foods are all ways that communities across North America celebrate this important day.

Rooted in ancient cultures and traditions, and celebrated across continents, the Winter Solstice serves as a potent reminder of the cyclic nature of life. It is the time when the Sun reaches its lowest point in the sky, casting the longest shadows and allowing the night to envelop the day. Symbolically, this day also represents the triumph of light over darkness, signalling the gradual return of longer days and the promise of renewed life. Occurring around December 21st in the Northern Hemisphere (Friday the 22nd in 2023), it symbolises the rebirth of light and the return of the Sun. The Winter Solstice encapsulates the essence of balance. As the longest night of the year, it urges us to honour the darkness that shrouds the natural world. This darkness isn’t merely absence; it’s a canvas for introspection and reflection. Many nature-based traditions encourage us to embrace this darkness, acknowledging its role in growth, healing, and renewal.

Simultaneously, the Solstice heralds the gradual return of light. Each passing day after the Solstice sees a subtle increase in daylight, symbolising hope and the promise of new beginnings. RICHARD ARNOLD ROUNDTREE
transitioned at 81 years young on 10/24/23 after succumbing to his battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

His manager, Patrick McMinn, said the cause was pancreatic cancer, which had been diagnosed with two months ago.

Many people know Mr.Richard from his EPIC role as “Shaft,” which was released in 1971, was among the first of the so-called blaxploitation movies, and it made Mr. Roundtree a star at 29.
Richard Arnold Roundtree was born on July 9, 1942, in New Rochelle, New York, to John Roundtree and Kathryn Watkins. Roundtree attended New Rochelle High School, where he graduated in 1961.
Mr. Richard was a loving & devoted father of 5 children, all of whom are adults.
Considered as "the first Black action hero",Roundtree was credited with having an impact on the rise of African American leading actors in Hollywood projects, thanks to his successful performances in the blaxploitation genre. Roundtree started his professional career around 1963, he began working as a model at the Ebony Fashion Fair after being scouted by Eunice W. Johnson; he then began modeling in advertisements for products such as Johnson Products' Duke hair grease and Salem ci******es. In 1967, Roundtree joined the Negro Ensemble Company: he then went on to play his first theatrical role by portraying boxer Jack Johnson in the company's production of The Great White Hope. He acted in the Off-Broadway production of her play Mau Mau Room, by the Negro Ensemble Company Workshop Festival in 1969.

Roundtree made his first big-screen appearance by playing a minor role in the film What Do You Say to a Naked Lady?, a 1970 American hidden-camera style reality film directed by Candid Camera creator Allen Funt.
Mr. Richard starred/guest starred in many films & sitcoms. He had so many accomplishments & he wasn’t honored enough.

HAS DIED AT 54 years old
After an apparent Drowning.

According to Law enforcement, Matthew Perry was found Saturday at a home located in Los Angeles, California where the drowning happened. Emergency personnel responded to the residence after receiving a call for a person experiencing cardiac arrest. Matthew was found in a whirlpool bath at the home. It’s been reported that there were no drugs found at the scene nor did it appear that foul play was involved.

Perry is most famous for his role as Chandler Bing on the hit '90s sitcom, which ran for 10 seasons & with him in all 234 episodes.

We all know that “FRIENDS”, is Matthew’s most famous acting role. However, he starred/guest starred in countless other TV shows over the years. Matthew appeared in the following ….”Boys Will Be Boys”, “Growing Pains”, “Silver Spoons”, “Charles in Charge”, “Sydney”, “Beverly Hills, 90210”,
