One of the most used pieces of gear in the studio is the Presonus Faderport 🎚It is absolutely ESSENTIAL for accurate and musical automation moves when mixing, and having tactile buttons for common commands saves time and keeps my flow-state when working.

The Faderport uses HUI protocol to communicate with Pro Tools and is always rock-solid 👍

One of my most prized pieces of gear... a pair of Neve 33135 mic preamps! These are Class A/B pres with an extreamely musical 3 band eq and high-pass filter. They have been racked up and have a custom built external power supply.

Made in the 1970s for Neve broadcast consoles, they are similar to the 33114 pres, but with a single input for mic and line level sources.
•••
•••
I LOVE how these sound on guitars; they are great for tracking, but my favorite use is running a stereo guitar bus through them when mixing. They really open up the stereo image and add a perfect amount of punch and sparkle.

These pres were perviously owned by Media Ventures (now Remote Control Productions), the film score company founded by Hans Zimmer.

One of the newer additions to the studio: A vintage Yamaha M508 console that I was given by
I spent some time re-capping the whole board a couple months ago and added direct outs on all the input channels. This was my first console restoration project, and I’m so stoked on how it came out!

I‘m now integrating it into my mixing workflow as an analog summing bus. It adds some nice transformer saturation when you start to push the inputs 🎚
