"But that's a waste of an education".
That's what somebody told me when we shared the news that we were retiring from our 9 to 5s at the ages of 35 and 38.
Yes, it's true that both my husband and I went through a lot of education. For me: 2 years of undergrad, 4 years of pharmacy school, and then 2 years of residency. A board-certified clinical pharmacist.
But a waste? No, it's not a waste. Our educations allowed us to obtain 6-figure jobs to propel our FIRE journey and move our timeline to retirement sooner.
There's more to life than getting an education just to work a 40-hour work week! Do you agree?
