First off FLOAT VR is not free.

It felt more like a data collection scam and felt quite shady when, after one short experience I had to enter my email address to continue.

The link in the email was to sign up for a subscription. 4.99 a month, $30 per year, $70 for lifetime access.

My impression : AI generated Tripp with shady marketing, higher prices, and data collection. Just get Tripp and don't bother with FLOAT. I feel like I'm going to be unsubscribing from a bunch of random emails very soon.

Trying to recapture that love for VR from years ago I've been going through the old library. This was an award winning Oculus exclusive from 2017.

It wasn't the best game ever as instead of free exploration you were randomly assigned a blank character and choices were very slim. That being said it was at least a complete game and better quality than most recent releases in VR. With a little polish this could be a top notch game.

It doesn't work on my PC, it only starts and then crashes after the opening panel. I reached out to Meta Support and actually received a response.

The following is what passes for Meta customer support. In five years we couldn't get a step between the low grade mobile devices that seem to come out only months apart, and all of this.

To get started, kindly check out the following suggestions and see if it will help you out on your issue:
Restart your PC and try launching it again.
Update your GPU drivers to the latest.
For Nvidia: click here.
For AMD: click here (either download the auto detector or manually select your GPU)
Launch the PC app as an administrator and launch the said game.
Uninstall then Reinstall the application.
Does other apps or games work fine?
Add the application to the antivirus software's whitelist.
Try another Windows user account with admin permissions.
Repair the PC VR app.
If none of the above work, I highly suggest doing a "clean" install of the PC app by following the following steps:
Disconnect the Rift/Link cable from the computer.
Disconnect your computer from the internet.
Backup any necessary content

Reboot into Safe Mode

Uninstall the Oculus PC app using the Control Panel
You can find steps on how to do so by clicking here.
Delete all Oculus folders from the following folder:
C:\Program Files
Remove any Oculus folders from the following locations:
C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData
C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Local
C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\LocalLow
C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Roaming
C:\OculusSetup-DownloadCache
Note: The AppData folder is usually hidden. Use these steps to access AppData.
Press Windows key + R to launch the Run dialog window.
Type %AppData% in the Run box and click OK or press Enter.
File Explorer will launch to the AppData\Roaming subfolder.
Click AppData in the File Explorer address bar to show all three subfolders in the AppData location.
Restart your computer in normal mode.
Reconnect your computer to the internet.
Install the Oculus PC app again using the setup tool from our website here.
Reconnect the Rift/Link cable and re-test the headset.

If the app still won't launch after doing the above steps, kindly provide your log files by following the steps below:
Connect the headset to the PC
Open the Run window (Windows key + R).
Enter and run: C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics\OculusLogGatherer.exe
The above link is the default directory. Bear in mind that if you installed the Oculus PC app to another drive you will need to update the command with the correct file path.
Select the checkbox next to ‘Full logs’.
Select "1 day" from the "Collect" drop down list.
Wait for the log collection to finish. This can take some time to complete.
The program will automatically generate a zip file containing your logs, which will be saved to your desktop.
Attach the newly created zip file to your next message.

Once you provide your log files, I can go ahead and check out the possible root cause and provide troubleshooting steps that can help you out with your issue.

Karnage Chronicles 2017

This one really helps me appreciate the progress that has been made since 2017. The game is visually stunning but the controls and action feel clunky. Playing Dungeons of Eternity immediately after this was like a relief.

STORMLAND VR

Now a piece of VR history. This game was highly anticipated but didn't get released until Meta had already abandoned PCVR for stand alone.

To date one of the best VR games we've ever had in my opinion. Some power upgrading and progress, huge play areas with a fun mode of traveling around.
Instead of porting this Oculus Exclusive to mobile, it just sat neglected and now is no longer available to purchase.

FOR THE LOVE OF GAMING PLEASE CANCEL THIS PROJECT

San Andreas from 2004 would do NOTHING to attract GTA players. We have been playing in a much more vibrant and full Los Santos for a decade now. A product connecting to our current play would be much more likely to attract GTA players. Allowing us to race our online car collection in a VR racing game for instance, or just the Cayo Perico Heist in VR would do more to connect with the current state of GTA and the player base.

On the verge of a GTA 6 release, showing us San Andreas in VR would not only taint the GTA brand, but would further reinforce that VR is a gimmick and not to be taken seriously by gamers.

I love GTA and VR, please keep them separate unless it can be done it a way that is good for both brands.

I've had Virtual Desktop for ages, but never really gave it a chance. I feel like AirLink came out soon after I got it, and even though I had some issues using it, I just never really explored VD.

So wrong, wireless PCVR is done BEST with Virtual Desktop. A smooth experience, I should have been on board sooner.

I've never been a fan of the battery headstraps but I just started using this little thing last night and after over two hours of OG Asgards Wrath via Airlink the HMD was still around 90%.
I was so impressed I made this post.
