Section 230 is on the docket, and it could change content moderation as we know it.
Two Supreme Court cases could upend the rules of the internet Section 230 is on the docket, and it could change content moderation as we know it.
And both have sparked deep concerns about the future of content moderation, algorithms and censorship.
That’s why dozens of other platforms, civil society groups and even the original authors of Section 230 have weighed in, via “friend of the court” briefs, in support of Google.
“There are implications on content moderation and whether companies could be liable for violence, criminal, or defamatory activity promoted on their websites,” the Bipartisan Policy Center says of the case.
In the meantime, many advocates argue that Section 230 reform is best left to Congress, not the courts.

Nikki Haley Fires Back At Whoopi Goldberg
Nikki Haley Fires Back At Whoopi Goldberg
Republican 2024 presidential candidate Nikki Haley responded to the latest attack from "The View" co-host Whoopi Goldberg, who claimed Monday that the former U.N. ambassador is not part of a "new generation" because of her age.
When fellow "View" co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin noted that Haley was part of a new generation compared to the age of a lot of politicians in D.C., Goldberg replied, "It’s not a new generation.
On "The Story," Haley said the comment further exposes the mainstream media's hypocrisy, noting how then-Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris was lauded for running as a woman of color while Haley, a member of the Indian American community, is being attacked for using her "Brown skin" to score political points.
The problem is, it’s just the hypocrisy of all of it.
Everybody would have been asking for everybody to be fired.
But when it comes back at them, they act like we’re the ones that are bad.

Hundreds Of Uninvited Teens Trash Family’s Home During ‘mansion Rager’ Promoted On Social Media
Hundreds of uninvited teenagers broke into a Texas family's home for a "mansion rager" party that they promoted on social media without the homeowners' knowledge.
"We started receiving numerous phone calls from our neighbors that there were kids on our water tower on our property, there were cars up and down the street, and kids were hopping over the front of our fence," the Austin homeowner told Fox 7, saying the shindig caused thousands of dollars in damages.
"They had beer cans, the seltzer cans, like White Claw.
"They had thrown tools through the sheetrock of our garage."
The homeowner said some of the partiers left articles of clothing behind, showing they attended schools from all over the area.
The sheriff's office told Fox News Digital on Sunday that the investigation is ongoing and there are no updates at this time.
