The Warning's new album "Keep Me Fed" is finally here!
One of my most anticipated releases this year, this is the album that will make this amazing young band a household name around the world.
Heavy, melodic, and full of killer riffs, the songs on this record are so well crafted, brilliantly played and the production is outstanding. It's been so rewarding watching The Warning evolve over the past few years to become the new face of rock music.
Pick up a copy of this album, and make sure you get out to see them play.
in 1992, released "Make Love Like A Man" as the second single from their 5th album Adrenalize.
It peaked at #36 on the Billboard Hot 100 ( #23 on the Canadian RPM singles chart), and it reached #3 on the Billboard Album Rock Tracks chart.
The music video was the bands first with Vivian Campbell, who had joined the band after the album and first video (Let's Get Rocked) had been released.
Pictured is my collection:
Canadian Vertigo cassette single
UK Phonogram Limited Edition 12" picture disc (02901)
UK Phonogram 7" single
France Limited Edition 7" gatefold single with guitar pick
US Mercury promo CD single
UK Phonogram picture disc CD single
Canadian Vertigo CD single.
Who remembers Laser Discs? Launched in the late 70s, they featured better quality video than VHS and Beta, but
never gained much traction here in North America.
The players were quite expensive, and the discs were not recordable (which is what consumers loved about video cassettes).
I'm lucky to have 3 laser discs in my collection; 2 European CD videos (Historia and In The Round, In Your Face) and Visualize which is a Japanese import disc.
Anyone have a player they want to get rid of?
I'd love to watch these and see what the audio/video quality is like..
42 years ago today, Survivor released their 3rd album "Eye Of The Tiger", featuring the smash hit title track, which was also the theme song from the movie Rocky III.
The album peaked at #2 on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart, and is certified platinum in both Canada and the US.
Eye of the Tiger was my first favorite album and first favorite song, and it will forever bring me back to memories of the summer of 1982. The single spent 6 weeks at #1 on the Hot 100, 15 consecutive weeks in the top 10 and was the #2 song for the year 1982. It was an international smash as well, reaching #1 in 8 other countries including the UK and Canada.
It also won a Grammy for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group (also nominated for Song of the Year) and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song.
Better late than never! 😉 I've been streaming 's latest album The Gangs All Here since it was released back in late 2022, but I finally picked up a copy on vinyl recently.
This is a true return to form for Skid Row after a long 16 years between albums. Erik Gronwall is a beast on this record , it's a shame he has had to leave the band to focus on his health.
Pick this one up!
How has it already been a week since .music fantastic show at the McBowl Charity Concert Series.

Check out a brand new episode of Tim's Vinyl Confessions , as I join Tim to countdown the Top 100 Albums in Canada from 40 years ago today according to Canadian music industry publication.
1984 was one of the best years in music history, so many classic albums and so much diversity in the genres on the chart.
Time for another chart rewind, and there are few more qualified to do this with than Chris Preston. Chris has the props, knowledge and overall know-how to lo...
31 years ago today, released their 3rd album "Pull" which marked a significant move away from their glam metal roots of their prior 2 albums, towards a much more raw, aggressive sound.
Produced by Mike Shipley and Kip Winger, the album was recorded as a 3 piece (Paul Taylor had left the band), with John Roth joining shortly thereafter.
The diverse collection of songs were much heavier and many featured socio-political themes with heavy metal and progressive styles.
Down Incognito was the first (and only) single and reached a peak of #15 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart. Blind Revolution Mad, In For the Kill, Junkyard Dog are some of my personal favorites.
Although the album only reached #82 on the Billboard 200, it's a critical and fan favorite and one of the most underrated hard rock records of the 90s.
If you are a fan of , you don't want to miss a brand new episode of Tim's Vinyl Confessions this weekend. Tim and I countdown the Top 100 albums from RPM magazine's May 19th, 1984 issue! What a year for music, and so many different genres on the charts in those days.
Thanks again to Tim for having me back, this was a ton of fun!

One night only, 20th anniversary of Thornley's "Come Again"
in 1990, kicked off their Hot in the Shade Tour in Lubbock Texas.
I saw Kiss for the first time on this tour, in Ottawa with openers Winger and Slaughter. Still a top 5 all time show for me and one of the loudest concerts I've ever been to.
Kiss was amazing, fantastic set list, and I'm so grateful to have been to see the great Eric Carr play before he passed away.
Here's the shirt and tour program I bought that night. T-shirt is just a tad tight these days 😁
With the documentary and their new song Legendary, the band is getting a lot of new attention these days so it seemed appropriate to make them the feature of this week's
I know I'm missing a couple of albums on cassette, but here's my collection so far. My personal favorite Bon Jovi album is still New Jersey.
with Icon's 1984 self-titled debut album. Raw, melodic hard rock/metal with fantastic guitar work by Dan Wexler and Stephen Clifford's outstanding vocals.
Icon released 3 albums in the 80s, but never attained any major success, which is a shame considering how good these albums are (especially the debut and 1985's Night of the Crime, which is an AOR masterpiece).
The band went through some major turmoil in 1985, when Stephen Clifford abruptly left before Night of the Crime was even finished. They tried to regroup, trying out a number of new lead singers, but ultimately they lost their record deal. it wasn't until 1989 that they signed with Megaforce Records and released their 3rd album with new lead singer Jerry Harrison. , remember coproducing this one?
Unfortunately, after a tour to support the album they disbanded.
Highly recommend giving Icon a listen if you are a fan of 80s hard rock.
Happy 32nd anniversary to one of the greatest hard rock albums of all time, Hardline's debut "Double Eclipse".
Hardline rose out of the ashes of Bad English with guitarist Neal Schon and drummer Deen Castronovo joining Todd Jensen and Johnny and Joey Gioeli.
Double Eclipse was released April 28th 1992 and received significant rock radio airplay and critical acclaim, but failed to make much of an impact on the charts, mainly due to the rising popularity of grunge and alternative music at the time.
Singles Hot Cherie and Takin Me Down both had some success on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart (reaching #25 and #37 respectively) while ballad Can't Find My Way was featured in the film Rapid Fire.
The band toured with Mr. Big and Extreme in 1992 but sadly lost their record deal and Neal Schon left to pursue other projects. They say timing is everything and had this album been released 2 or 3 years earlier I think it would have been massive.
If you haven't listened to this album, you are missing out on a brilliant melodic hard rock record.... pick up a copy and crank it up!
It's here!!! Brand new Lee Aaron Music album "Tattoo Me" is available now! Download it, stream it, but better yet buy a copy on CD and/or vinyl. Autographed copies available at rockpapermerch.com
"Tattoo Me" is a covers album featuring 11 classic tracks from artists that inspired/influenced Lee and her band including songs by Elastica, Led Zeppelin, Alice Cooper, Jet, Fleetwood Mac and Heart.
Just finished my first full listen and had a gigantic smile on my face the whole time! This is such a fun record, I love the song selection focusing on deeper more "obscure" tracks, which makes the whole album so enjoyable.
Standouts so far for me are Even It Up, Go Your Own Way, Malibu, Teenage Kicks and an absolute killer version of Led Zep's What Is and What Should Never Be.
The PERFECT album for summer is here! Crank it up!

It's official! Here are the 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees. And before the comments start about some of the inductees not being "rock" artists, it's been obvious for many years that the Rock Hall is really a Music Hall of Fame.
Great to see Foreigner finally get in, and Ozzy is now in as a solo artist (having already been inducted as a member of Black Sabbath).
How freakin' cool is this? BILLY F'N IDOL with a full on Canadian Tour this summer. Rebel Yell Canada 2024 is hitting 13 Canadian cities this August. And who is opening? Platinum Blonde!
It's again!
This is one of the more rare in my collection.
1988 Polygram Canada issue of Def Leppard "Historia - Soundtrack from the Video Historia". This was a promotional only release sent out to retailers here in Canada to showcase the home video along with the bands 4 albums. It features all the songs that had promotional videos made for them up to that point in 1988 (Rocket was released in 1989, so it's not on this).
To my knowledge, this was only released in Canada and only on cassette.
Great looking lineup for this years Rocklahoma! fantastic to see that The Warning has been added to the bill.
We’re so excited to join the Rocklahoma lineup for the first time! Get ready to rock with us 🤘🎸 Check out for ticket info!

38 years ago today, the album that made me a fan was released. "Turbo" is Priest's 10th studio album and it marked a fairly dramatic change in the bands sound, moving to a more "glam metal" sound.
Their incorporation of guitar synthesizers didn't go over well with many of the bands hardcore fans. Well, I say screw the haters because this album is fantastic.
The record kicks off with Turbo Lover, which I rank up there with Priest's best songs. It's a massively heavy track in their live set list! Locked In and Parental Guidance were also singles, and the album tracks are fantastic.
Turbo featured prominently in the bands Fuel For Life Your in 86-87 and a newly sober Rob Halford was on fire for this tour.
The album peaked at #17 on the Billboard 200 while going platinum in the US and Canada.

Remember when album releases used to be advertised on TV? 38 years ago today, Judas Priest released their 10th studio album "Turbo", which was my introduction to the band. This album generated a ton of debate amongst Priest fans, many of whom disliked the record for moving away from the classic Priest "sound" toward a more glam metal sound. Their use of guitar synthesizers didn't go over well with many hardcore Priest fans. At any rate I love this album and it's still my favorite Judas Priest record. Here's one of the commercials that aired during the lead up to the album's release on March 24, 1986. #ClassicRock #80sMetal #judaspriest #judaspriestfans
