This might ruffle some feathers but we are going to say it all anyway.

It doesn’t matter how you move your body, as long as you’re moving it.

It doesn’t matter where you move your body, as long as you’re moving it.

It doesn’t matter what time you move your body, as long as you’re moving it.

It doesn’t matter how long you move your body, as long as you’re moving it.

It doesn’t matter if you’re doing yoga or doing strength training. As long as you’re moving your body in a way that makes YOU FEEL GOOD.

Somewhere along the way I think we all got really hung up on the “right way” to do a health and wellness journey. Fun fact. There isn’t a universal right way. There’s only a way that feels right FOR YOU.

So weather you’re doing Pilates for 15 minutes and then taking a walk, weather you’re strength training for and hour, weather you’re walking on a walking pad in your office, or weather you’re rubbing and training for your first 5K it doesn’t matter what anyone else is doing.

Your journey is YOUR journey.
You are in charge of moving in ways that bring you JOY.
You are responsible for the path you take to feel good inside and out.

Stop trying to fit a certain mold of an influencer you follow. Heck. Don’t even try to fit the mold that I follow. Especially if it doesn’t work for you! If you want to workout at home? DO IT! If you want to join a gym then join the gym! If you want to do cycling classes then do that! If you want to combine things that I do with things your favorite influencer does because that sounds like it’s going to fit what you need and will make you the most happy, then do that!

The point is… your journey is your journey. And there isn’t a certain way you need to be doing it other than the way that feels best for you and the way that God shows you is best for you.

Stop letting others tell you what your journey should look like. It’s all up to you babe 🩵

May means a lot to me.

Not only was this the month when I said yes to partnering with BODi four years ago, but it’s also mental health awareness month.

I started this wellness journey to improve my mental health. I knew I was never going to “get rid” of my anxiety and depression, but I did know that exercise could help me learn to coexist with my diagnoses.

l used to wake up in the middle of the night shaking uncontrollably and not be able to fall back asleep the rest of the night. I’d stay up until I had to go to school, and at some point in the day l’d have an anxiety attack. And that night l’d be so embarrassed about it all that the process would start all over again at 2AM.

I started these workouts my freshmen year of college, partly because I wanted to knock off my freshmen fifteen, but mostly because I wanted to be able to feel good mentally and alleviate any and all symptoms I suffered with that were linked to my diagnosis.

I can proudly say that after just the first week of focusing on myself, I already started to feel the effects.

After six months, I hardly had anxiety attacks (I’m never going to not have them at some point), and I was able to sleep through the night without shaking anymore (I used to shake in the middle of the day for almost no reason at the beginning of freshmen year).

The point is, this journey has changed my life. And I want to take this time to advocate for mental health and its importance.

Stop telling people it’s all in their head.
Stop telling people to suck it up.
Don’t make fun of people for attending therapy or going on medications.

Good mental health is what keeps the rest of your body physically and emotionally healthy. It’s not something to “fake it until you make it”. Mental health is important. And not just for those with a diagnosis. Take care of yourself. Because we all have mental health, and we all need to make sure that it’s a priority.

I’ve been wanting to jump on this trend but man was it hard to admit to some of these.

So why share them then?

Well. Because that’s the whole point of this trend. I’m here to help honest on my journey and to gain self-confidence and self-worth. I’m not here to hide and pretend like every aspect of my entire being is 100% perfect and ready to be shared on the internet at any moment.

It’s okay to have battles to fight.
It’s okay to struggle.
It’s okay to have imposter syndrome.
It’s okay to be human.

Just a friendly reminder to everyone who has always been told otherwise 🫶🏻

Stop dreaming and wishing for “one day” and “some day”.

First of all, neither one of those are a day of the week 😉

Second of all, wishing for those days to come doesn’t help you arrive to those days or achieve your goals.

“Some day I want to workout”
“One day it’ll be easier to put me first when XYZ isn’t happening”
“One day l’d like to love who I am”
“Some day I won’t listen to my excuses”
“One day I will be like her”

Listen. I’ve said all of these and more. And it took me a long time to realize that the only way I was going to get past those phrases of “some days” and “one days”, was to take immediate messy action.

I didn’t feel ready to start working out.
I didn’t feel prepared to eat healthier.
I didn’t want to wake up and make decisions that didn’t involve sleeping until noon.

But I did it anyways. I stopped saying “one day” and started saying “TODAY”.

➡️ One day will NEVER come. Some day will not just magically happen. You may have to start on your goals in a messy, uncomfortable, and scared period of your life. Because even when you get past that point and your life is more comfortable, you still won’t be ready. ⬅️

So stop saying “One Day” and start you Day One instead.

Two years ago I injured my back from lifting improperly and wasn’t able to workout for a while.

I fell into an emotional eating habit and completely threw my health out the window. I was upset I couldn’t lift, so I ate my heart out. I was upset about my eating habits, so I ate my heart out. I couldn’t pull myself out of these sad and upsetting moments, so I ate my heart out.

Thankfully, a 20 minute workout program changed my life and actually using our nutrition platform helped me to stop emotional eating.

I never used to use our nutrition platform before this injury. I attempted but it never stuck. It wasn’t until I took these pictures on the left that I realized there was no way for me to out-train a bad diet.

So, with a lot of hard work in a 20 minute workout program, and sticking to one of our nutrition programs, I was able to lose 25 pounds. And then I did this same program FIVE more times in the next two years and STUCK to our nutrition programs and I’ve now lost almost 30 pounds.

I don’t say this to brag about losing weight. I say this to point out some other differences— look at my face. It’s full of light, there’s minimal acne, my smile is genuine, and my confidence is high. Look at my posture— it’s confident and sure in who I am. My energy levels are so much better and my overall outlook on life is better too. My mental health is flourishing on the right and I’m drowning in the left.

I share this today because I’ve been struggling with my eating habits lately— and seeing this transformation is reminding me that I can’t outtrain a bad diet. I can’t continue to see the results of gotten if I stop paying attention to what I’m putting in my body.

In November, we are focusing on our nutrition in my monthly health and wellness group. We are learning that nutrition is just as important (and sometimes more important) than just working out alone.

Sound like something you need? Comment November to learn more 🤎🤍

There’s so many new people following along on this journey, I just HAVE to reintroduce myself to you!

Hi 👋🏻 I’m Yasmine (Yaz)!

I’m an online health and wellness advocate and partner with a company called BODi. I’ve been partnered with BODi since May 2020 and have loved EVERY MINUTE of my journey! 🏋🏻‍♀️

I’m in my first year of graduate school at WSC 🐯, studying to become an LIMHP. 🎓

I’ve been engaged since August 2023 and plan to marry my best friend in 2025. 💍

I’ve been living with generalized anxiety disorder since I was 17 years old and been embracing that label since I was 19. 🧠

I use BODi’s home workouts and nutrition to help combat my anxiety symptoms. As an added bonus, I’ve also lost a total of 25 pounds from using this platform! ❤️

I’m (secretly) into low-tox living… natural cleaners, essential oils, and eating wholesome ingredients in my food. But I’ll also always be down for a Dr. Pepper, chips and queso, and a margarita! 🍹

Finally, I believe that everyone deserves to put themselves first and love themselves at every stage of their life. It’s my mission to help others realize that they don’t have to SURVIVE in life, but that they can THRIVE in life 🤍🤎

What do we have in common?? Let me know below ⬇️

The graduation cap came off in may, but my bookbag is coming back on for the next two and a half years!

For those of you who are new here, I am starting Grad school today and I know that throughout this process, taking care of myself is going to be ESSENTIAL for making sure I survive! This post is for everyone who is going through their undergrad or are in graduate school too! Here are my top five tips and things I will be doing to make sure I am taking care of myself during the school year:

1️⃣ Moving my body for AT LEAST 30 minutes each morning. Exercise helps you to not only have more focus during your day, but more energy, get better sleep, and just makes you feel really good!

2️⃣ Sticking to the 80/20 nutrition rule! I am on a meal plan that I use through my platform and customize to my life every week. HOWEVER! I also stray from it SOMETIMES and still let myself enjoy the occasional ice cream run, coffee with allll the sugar, margs, and desserts (although these are on my meal plan too!)

3️⃣ Drinking at least 80 oz of water! I used to prioritize caffeine when I first started college… and let me tell you that caffein isn’t always the answer to getting more energy… your body naturally needs water!

4️⃣ Taking breaks. I am the type of person who will work until the stress is pouring out of me in tears… but I am going to work hard to incorporate breaks into my study sessions and between work and school. Stressing yourself out and working for hours on end will actually results in not being able to accomplish tasks well AT ALL!

5️⃣ Get 7-8 hours of sleep. I LOVE sleep… If I get any amount less than this I am so anxious the next day, and even for a few days after. Sleep is so important. I know its easier said than done, but don’t stay up all night watching Netflix and “studying” or actually studying. Again, staying up and stressing your body out leads to not feeling great day in, and day out.

I hope these help you out this school year! Save this post or share with someone else who needs to remember these tips this semester.

We have LOTS to use up this week, so instead I give you just a meal plan for the week ☺️

We start school this week, so we are keeping it simple!

Breakfast: egg and sausage scramble. I’ll be making this into breakfast burritos each day or honestly just eating it plain!
Cost per serving: $0.88

Lunch: chicken Caesar salad! Cooking up some chicken breast, paring it with some Caesar dressing, and some romaine lettuce.
Cost per serving: $1.64

Supper: homemade pizzas! We are using pre-made pizza crusts and are topping with sausage, cheese, and pepperoni!
Cost per pizza: $7.42

Like I said, we are going for simple and easy this week! I have a lot of veggies from my parents garden to snack on too so I’m definitely not lacking in those this week either!

Share with someone who needs simple mela plan ideas!

I’ve been there. Studying until midnight and forgot to eat supper… so you go to the gas station and get nachos. You sleep in and miss breakfast but lunch doesn’t sound good yet. Or, you live off campus for the first time and you’re struggling to eat anything except ramen and hamburger helper.

I know that the school year can be so chaotic and busy and the last thing you think about doing is eating healthy, but I’m hoping by sharing these few recipies, you can set yourself up for success for the first week of school (7 days until classes start for me 🤪).

So go ahead and try these out this week and next week! Share them with your roommates, your kids at college, or a busy teacher who is tired of cafeteria food.

Eating healthy doesn’t have to be expensive or complicated. These recipies prove that! I’m all about minimal ingredients and saving every penny I can when it comes to meal prep 💙

Starting Day 1 of a brand new program 🤩

4 weeks of 20-30 minute workouts, 5 days a week. I get to experience mixes of Cradio, HIIT, and Strength Training. And I get to experience it even further after this program for the last 100 days of 2023!

I’m so excited for this program and to see how my body grows in all the nonscale ways— how much heavier I can lift (almost needing to buy 20lb dumbbells!), if I can carry alllll the groceries at once finally, if my lower back pain improves, or how much more energy and confidence I gain in the next four weeks.

Here’s to day 1, and continuing habits that’ll set me up for success in the rest of 2023.

Imagine your favorite place on earth.

Imagine getting to go there for a week ever summer and having the best time of your life.

Imagine staying up late swimming in a lake as clear as air and waking up early to dive back in as soon as you possibly can.

Imagine one summer you’re told you aren’t allowed a week off.

Imagine thinking, “I’ll never get to enjoy my happy place again.”

That was a reality for me four summers ago.

Every year since before I was born, my family has been making a week-long road trip to Michigan to see my mom’s side of the family. And when I was 18 I got a summer job, two actually, that both told me I was going to get to go.

I was beyond devastated. And it was after two days of waking up at 4am to manage a detassling crew and working until 10:00 at night in customer service and sieving on cheeseburgers and mozzarella sticks for a week straight, I knew I never wanted to work another job again that told me “No” to rest, relaxation, and freedom.

The next summer, I started Partnering with BODi. And because of the pandemic I didn’t get to go to Michigan that same summer I joined.

But the following summer? One week in Michigan immediately followed by another full week on Colorado.

The summer after that? One week in Michigan and five days in St. Louis.

This summer? Five days in San Diego. Five days in San Antonio. One week in Michigan.

Because of Partnering, I’ve gained the freedom to travel and spend time with my loved ones. I didn’t have to work during camping trips, miss family weddings, or miss out on the final years of my remaining grandparents’ lives.

Partnering gave me the freedom to enjoy not only one family vacation, but several.

I know that in a week when I fall asleep in Michigan, I’ll be so damn thankful I decided to Partner with BODi three years ago.

6 days until a Michigan 💛💙

I no longer workout to feel good in a bikini.

I don't workout to look "better" than I used to.

I don't workout to punish myself for what I ate.

I don't workout for the approval of others.

I don't even workout because it keeps me in shape.

I started this journey to enhance my relationship with my mind. I started working out consistently in order to practice loving myself in ways other than face masks and bubble baths.

Exercise is my Self-Love Language 😉. It's what taught me that I have a right to be happy and to spend time with myself without the thoughts of being "not good enough" "too fat" "too skinny" "a weirdo" and"embarrassing".

Exercise is a tool I use to love my mental diagnosis, my body, my soul, and my life. Exercise is the reason I found MY MEANING in life… and the true meaning of loving yourself.

And to me, loving yourself simply means this: "Do whatever you've got to do in order to feel like you're no longer hiding who you truly are."

Imagine this: you don’t workout to lose weight, but instead to be happy 🤯

You don’t pick up heavier dumbbells because it means you’re burning fat. You pick up heavier dumbbells because your body is strong and it makes you feel amazing.

You don’t do cardio to get toned. You do cardio because you love it and it makes you feel like a badass.

Just imagine working out to celebrate your body instead of punishing it…

Well. That’s exactly what I do. That’s exactly what my whole TEAM does!

For most of us, we have realized that working out has stopped being a thing to shed a few pounds and has become a thing that empowers the hell out of us and allows us to become more confident!

I started these workouts to improve my mental health and become confident in who I truly was, not to lose weight.

But I didn’t know that was possible at first. I just hoped it was. If I hadn’t actually stuck to the programs, I wouldn’t have gotten those benefits.

But thankfully after just one week, I knew that feeling all of those confident and badass feelings were more than possible, because I already felt them!

So if you’re needing something that makes you feel like a badass, then these programs might just be for you 😉

Have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror and said, “I didn’t realize it had gotten that bad.”

Or maybe you bought baggy clothes to hide in?

Or maybe you didn’t take as many pictures of yourself because you felt ashamed?

Hi. I’m Yasmine. And I’m an emotional eater.

In September 2021 I started having severe lower back pain. This was due to my lack of knowing how to properly strength train for the previous 8 years of my life.

When I started going through this, I wasn’t able to workout hardly at all and that crushed me. Me mental health tanked and I, maybe like you, turned to food.

The buffet arrangement at college was my worst enemy. I stopped paying attention to what I was eating and just payed attention to how the more sugar and carbs I ate, the better I (momentarily) felt.

I gained 15 pounds in just over two months. And not that that’s a bad thing, but I felt sluggish, depressed, and didn’t want to take care of myself.

*Enter our nutrition programs*

In December of 2021 I realized just how important your overall diet is to your health. What I was taking in wasn’t helping me, especially in the amounts I was eating them in.

I turned to a program and went ALL IN where I could portion my food and still enjoyed those sugar and carb cravings. As an emotional eater, you don’t always know how much is too much and what you should and shouldn’t have… so that’s why I specifically chose this program to work with from the BODi platform.

It wasn’t an overnight transition, but since December of 2021, I’ve lost 25 pounds and have never felt more energized, more confident, more proud of myself, or more passionate about food. I also never gave up on my fitness routine and took every damn modification in the book until I felt better.

I haven’t given up anything I love— chocolate, ice cream, and pasta included 😍 But I’ve learned to control what I eat and find better options for me in times of deep stress.

So if you’re like me and you’re an emotional eater too, maybe this nutrition program could be the thing for you!

DM me “nutrition” for more info ❤️

Weekly meal prep (on a budget 😉)

You already know, I’m here for simple and easy!

Breakfasts are legit just scrambled eggs and I chop up this chicken sausage and put it all into a tortialla.

There’s nothing simpler than a salad…

And for supper you literally pour everything in a crockpot and walk away.

So let’s break down the costs for all y’all on a budget and think healthy eating is out of your grasp!

Breakfast (5 servings)
- Chicken sausage (this lasts WEEKS) $11.88
- Eggs: $1.76 (use 2 eggs per meal)
- Low carb tortillas (8): $4.98
- Per serving: $2.60

Lunch (5 servings)
- Spinach: $1.98
- Apples: $1.54/lb (I bought 5… roughly $2)
- Dressing: $3.48
- Per serving: $1.47

Supper (12ish servings)
- Meatballs (family size): $8.94

Have you ever started a fitness routine and you get sore, so you don’t show up the next day… or the next… or the next… and then you just stop showing up at all??

Yep. Me to.

March 2020 is when I started these workouts. And MAN did I suck at showing up every day. I didn’t complete programs. I didn’t use our nutrition programs. The accountability group kind of helped, but I really just struggled to keep going.

Then one day, my mentor was on her stories talking about how becoming a Partner has held her more accountable to keep up with her journey… and all I could think was, “Damn. It’s like she knows I’m struggling and is talking right to ME.”

So, when my mentor asked me for probably the fourth time to Partner with her, I said yes. I knew that if I was a Partner, it would literally become my job to put myself first and take care of myself consistently.

Do you think it worked??

Well. Here I am, June 2023 and I’ve successfully completed 14 total workout programs (one of them I’ve literally done 6 times because I love it THATS much), I drink my superfoods shake or eat it as a dessert every day, I’ve stuck to our nutrition programs very well while also enjoyed my food, and I’ve helped soo many women do the same.

I can honestly say, had I said “No” to Partnering, I would’ve quit BODi and I would’ve gone right back to my old habits— daily 8pc mozzarella sticks, large cherry limeades, double bacon cheeseburgers, staying up late, eventually drinking the nights away when I did eventually resort alcohol, and feeling like absolute crap.

Partnering has not only changed my life, but I honestly think it’s saved my life too. If it weren’t for saying “Yes” in May of 2020, I KNOW that I’d be a shell of a person.

Do you struggle to keep showing up too?? Because man oh man do I have an opportunity for YOU.

So there you are, working a dead-end job for someone else and their goals and all you can help but think is, “there’s got to be more to life… right?”

Six months before I became a Partner, I was working at a job that drained me. I knew after a month that I wasn’t going to stay at that job or work another one like it after I left. I have always hated being bossed around and told what to do and how to do it. Even as a child, I always wanted to be the one in charge and take charge of my own life.

When Partnering was presented to me, I didn’t have a huge specific goal in mind when I started… The only goal I had was to be held more accountable and to save on our products.

But then I started watching videos of my mentor, her mentor, and other Partners and I saw what this opportunity was doing for them. It gave them FREEDOM. Freedom to stay home with their families. Freedom to leave jobs they didn’t like anymore. Freedom to be their own boss. Freedom to be themselves.

So I started truly investing. And through that commitment, I found that same freedom.

I became my own boss.
I got the freedom to not get a “normal” job.
I got the freedom to travel on long vacations with my family.
I got the freedom to love myself without guilt.
I got the freedom to spend time with my family every day.

No more picking and choosing between a paycheck and a family gathering.

No more working for someone else’s goals and agendas (like the big corporation I first worked for).

I became truly free when I became a Partner with BODi. And if I can do it, you can too. If a former broke college student can become her own boss overnight and start paying for college, you can too.
