This week, we’re in Arkansas! First, Kenzie gives us a two-for-one special with a murder and a haunted opera house. The King’s Opera House in Van Buren has been a town staple since 1891, not just for artistic performances. The ghost of Charles Tolson is said to have haunted the theater since his murder in 1903, and only recently has the true story of his murder come to light. Next, Lauren shares stories from the ominous Blowing Cave in Cushman, Arkansas. This cave might have been used for secret parties during the Great Depression, or it may hold the entrance to a hidden underworld with human-like creatures. No one knows for sure! Dive deep with us into these spooky Arkansas mysteries!

This week, we are in Utah and with some very special guests! Kenzie’s mom was in town visiting, and was our honorary live audience while we recorded this episode! Unfortunately, our mics did not pick up what she said, so it might sound like we are talking to an imaginary person, but we promise, she was there! Later in the episode, our friend Juliana arrives, and it was great practice for future live shows! Lauren kicks things off by delving into the story of the controversial John Doyle Lee, a high-ranking member in the early days of Mormonism whose questionable decisions ultimately led to his excommunication from the church. Next, Kenzie shares the tale of the supposed curse on the 1956 John Wayne movie, The Conqueror. Is the movie really cursed, or simply a result of human error and negligence? Tune in for an episode filled with intriguing stories and a glimpse into Utah’s cool nature and its more ominous characters. 👻

This week, we dive into the hot and sticky bayous of Louisiana! First, Kenzie shares the story of the corrupt business dealings of brothers Jean and Pierre Lafitte and the famous building where they are said to have operated. Now called Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop Bar, it is believed to be a hotspot for spiritual activity due to its long history that predates the Revolutionary War. We also explore Le Feu Follet, or the “Will-o’-the-Wisp,” the mysterious, ghostly lights that appear in the swamps and bayous of Louisiana, attributed to spirits or supernatural phenomena. The spirits of Louisiana are a force to be reckoned with! 👻

This week, we are in hot and sunny Florida! Lauren tells us about Florida’s I-4 Dead Zone, a notoriously haunted stretch of highway infamous for its high number of accidents and ghostly sightings. Local legends and eerie events have cemented its reputation as one of the most mysterious and dangerous roads in the state. Then, Kenzie shares the story of Eastern Airways Flight 401 to Miami International Airport. On December 29, 1972, Flight 401 crashed into the Florida Everglades due to pilot error and a faulty landing gear indicator, resulting in the deaths of 101 out of 176 passengers and crew. But this story doesn’t end there— in addition to survivors’ testimonies of their bravery and resilience, crew members reported seeing ghostly apparitions of the flight’s crew on other Eastern AirLines aircraft. We caution you to be wary of your surroundings while traveling through Florida.

We have a unique episode for Montana this week. Lauren and Kenzie cover two stories that happen to take place in the same location. The Old Montana State Prison in Deer Lodge, Montana. Kenzie starts us off with a couple of the prison’s most infamous inmates, Jerry Myles and Lee Smart. These two are responsible for holding over 20 hostages for 36 hours during the Prison Riot of 1959. Lauren continues with the telling of additional dark history that plagues the old prison. These stories lead many to believe that the prison is one of the most haunted places in Southwest Montana. Please be advised that soap boxes are stepped on in this episode.

We are headed to the United States’ largest state by area, Alaska, known as the Last Frontier State. This might go down in history as Kenzie’s favorite episode because she gets to talk about otters the WHOLE time. She shares with us the legend of the Kushtaka, a giant otter-man that comes from Tlingit folklore. Legend says the Kushtaka will trick you into following them deep into the Alaskan wilderness, only to never be seen or heard from again. Then, Lauren redeems herself and concludes the story of the Devil’s Chair. Afterwards, she tells us about the SS Baychimo, a steel-hulled, 1,322 ton cargo steamer built in 1914 in Sweden and owned by the Hudson’s Bay Company. She became a notable ghost ship along the Alaskan coast, being abandoned in 1931 and seen numerous times since then until her last sighting in 1969. This episode will make you think twice about exploring Alaska’s vast wilderness, especially alone.

Lauren is home from her honeymoon, and we ARE in Kansas this week! Lauren starts off by telling us about a mysterious water well. Can’t tell you much more than that because Lauren doesn’t finish the mystery and leaves us on a cliffhanger! After that, she shares about the legends and ghost stories that surround Stull Cemetery. The cemetery is rumored to be one of the 7 Stairways to Hell. Then, Kenzie gives us a classic, one of a kind unsolved murder mystery. Gary Simmons disappeared Tuesday, October 15th, 1974 after writing a $30,000 check for a stranger. At least…that is what we are led to believe. We are so happy Lauren had a great time on her trip, but even happier that she is back stateside! 🖤
