Well it's the first of the month and the latest podcast is out! 'Are you the new babysitter?' - looking at single parenting and midlife dating. It examines midlife dating from a variety of perspectives - people with biological kids and people who have fostered, people who don't have kids and those who don't want to date people with kids.

It's also the last episode for Season 1.

After a beautiful period of taking life very slowly, I find myself back in the fast lane....A full time job, a consultancy job on the side meaning I am working 7 days a week, a gig coming up, Board duties. I'm no mathematician, but even I can work out that I can't fit in the 30-40 hours it takes each episode to interview, edit, do the commentary, final editing etc. I will have to work out a more sustainable system for Season 2.

It has been one of the most delightful experiences I have done in a long time and I think a large part of that was connecting to beautiful people from all around the world and being the recipient of their generosity in sharing their stories. I loved hearing them. Thank you all who were involved. Thank you also to Warrick Gilbert and Ben Tumney for contributing their creative talents.

And thank you to all the listeners - who would have thought!! Over 1000 downloads in 17 countries. A big heartful hug to you all for listening ❤

1000 downloads! What a milestone. Thank you to all who have been supporting me on this journey.
Next episode is due out on 1 September and it will be on single parenting - both being one and dating, and dating a single parent when you aren't one.
It's also going to be the last episode for the season (what's a 'season'? No idea! But it sounds official right?). I'm doing 2 jobs at the moment, board duties and a gig in September so will be working 7 days a week for the next little while - it seemed wise to cut back on some of the extra activities including the podcast to give myself a break and exercise self-care.
Will keep you posted after a break as to what Season 2 will look like....
Thanks again - it's been amazing ❤

Episode 5 is out today! 'Infectious love – Dating during the COVID-19 Pandemic...'

Bad news: Lockdown 2 continues. Enough said.

Good news: Daily updates in Victoria from the swoon-worthy Professor Brett Sutton who has the looks of George Clooney with the brains of Amal Clooney.

When COVID-19 first hit, there was a lot of rhetoric around families – the joys of doing puzzles and baking sourdough together, the ails of home-schooling... But what about single people – how are they faring?

This episode is beautiful in so many ways. Hearing how single people and those dating struggled, flourished, or a combination of both during the pandemic has helped me personally feel supported, less alone and inspired. I hope it does the same for you.

As always, I am so grateful to the guests who shared their stories. Each time, just before I sit down to do an interview, I think ‘why can’t I just spend my free time bingeing on Netflix and eating chocolate like a normal person?’. Then I start hearing people’s stories and I am transfixed by them. Storytelling is such a beautiful window into the soul.

We’re up to 800 downloads in 14 countries!! Thanks for all your words of encouragement, ideas, suggestions for topics and guests. This feels more and more like a community project, and we all need a bit more community during times like these

I’ve nearly finished the next episode which, very timely, happens to be on Race and Midlife Dating.
The next few episodes after that will be on the art of a good message, religious and political beliefs and dating, chemistry, ethical non-monogamy, single parenting and dating and the age gap.

Unlocking the mysteries of midlife (30 to 50 year olds) dating through real-life stories to give hope and share learnings.

Join a fellow midlife dater on the path to finding love, your host Anita, as she takes you on an authentic, relatable and humorous journey looking at midlife dating. Midlife dating can be beautiful, painful, funny, excruciating and inspiring. It can lead to the holy grail of a soulmate relationship but rarely without an interesting story along the way. This podcast focuses on everyday people’s stories – both the success stories and nightmare dates from hell – and teaches us that even the most disastrous stories can lead to us to important lessons in life and reminds us that we are not alone. Some of the questions we explore in the podcast– what is stopping people from online dating? What makes someone swipe left or right? What are the deal breakers when dating in midlife? Is there a strategy to success? What is ghosting and why do people do it? This podcast explores the everyday and the extraordinary moments of midlife dating, seeks to normalise the issues that arise, reduce the stigma of being single in midlife and support people who are on the sometimes difficult, sometimes beautiful journey to finding midlife love.
