Learning who I am as a producer, as a Brazilian that has not been in touch with Brazil issues for 2 decades. I could not have predicted the wave of emotions I that hit me- with organically visceral movies. Brazilians’ joys and sorrows are so intertwined, like they can’t exist separately- it’s a dizzying feeling to keep seeing them unfold on a big screen. With Day 3 of done, I think I am witnessing a historical moment for Brazilian cinema. It’s crazy to have a small part in it! I’m grateful and slightly incredulous. 🤩🎥⚡️✨

On the bright side… the high of stepping onto a grassy park and looking up .. is palpable. Or so I’ve heard. IDk..

Hollywood Florida Film Festival has announced the lineup for this year.

Macumba: A Family Folklore is screening on November 13 at 6pm with the short film block named «  Robert De Niro » which fits us perfectly since the story is based on multiple real people including “seu Augusto”, who looked a lot like De Niro when he was younger. .ofilme

Actor Chico Caprario brought a rich presence to this character with his talent and warmth. Just from our conversation about Augusto’s mannerisms, picked up and embodied the role like a glove. I love watching his performance. ❤️

We are doing this! touches on the multilayered expectations and sacrifices a woman makes in extreme situations. It brings our lenses onto personal reasons for major political moves. Não posso nem acreditar que a conheci e ela continuou rindo da minha cara em Florianópolis… eu só observei. Me senti levada. Me senti guiada. Ninguém precisa saber dessas coisas - eu sempre fico com minhas mágicas pra mim mesma. Mas ela quer ser compartilhada então eu aprendi mais uma coisa. One year ago exactly- July 30 2022- I met Aureo in Hollywood to wish him luck and glory as he was about to fly to Paris! A lifelong dream of a professional ballet dancer! We talked about maybe, perchance, let’s see what happens…. Let’s make a movie : Mirele goes to Paris!… and now! Look at us! Frolicking in Paris and winning awards in Cannes! What a difference a year can make. Thank you for your kindness Aureo and your friendship and Mirele, for the fashion. Oh the fashion! ❤️🇫🇷😎

A series I worked on as associate producer Premieres on tomorrow July 28 ( or 29?) I can’t wait to see how it turned out.
The most interesting and terrifying thing about this show is how simple it would be to fall for a cult leader charisma and tactics. This show is a satire about some serious stuff we are all susceptible to. Hope you like it. And for the record- it really counts in viewership if a series is watched till the end. But remember: you don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do….

2017 LADY BIRD screening in Hollywood somewhere.

This was supposed to be a Q&A session- the director sits in front of the audience at the theatre and talks about the movie (and it can get really self indulging really fast). But Greta introduced the movie saying she’d be hanging out at the reception after and would happy to talk.
I was too shy to come say “ oh hey great movie “…But didn’t want to miss the opportunity. Two refreshing wine glasses later, I buzz-pep-talked myself in the bathroom “ listen to me- you will go back out there and talk to her. I dare you”
I waited for her to be done with some people - yes I hung out awkwardly near - and then I said hello. And this is what came out - “ the movie spoke to me - I went to a catholic school too and I related to a lot of moments” She said it was nice to know. She sounded like she meant it. “It must be so cool to be at a party and know everyone wants to talk to you. How does that feel?” She laughed. Yes it’s really cool. “How long does it take you to write a script? I can’t seem to finish things fast enough or at all. “ She said it took her about a year. She gives herself the time so the story feels right. Every moment needs to *feel right*. And the best way- if not the only way to get started- is to go make movies. Get your friends together and make a movie.

Then I asked for a picture and this is it. She wished me luck with my movies. In a wider angle you can see me holding on to a large empty wine glass but my PR guru told me it would be best to keep it out of the frame 🍷💕 thanks

Sundance London came and went and the one lesson I take from it is that producing is a never ending marathon. So go slow, go fast, but just go. Solidifying purpose and being patient. Seeing the same people again and saying hello and seeing what’s good for your stories. Nothing really matters besides producing because “finding a way” to do what needs to be done is just life happening.
