🏆 Coach Appreciation Post 🏆

We are so lucky. I try to remember how much we would appreciate learning from all our coaches if we didn’t have easy access to them every single week.

They let us text them and they encourage us and they do our hair and tell us the truth and help us plan and get tough with us. They go away and ask questions and learn things and come back to make us better. They turn up to our lessons being excited and with big plans and they push us to make things happen. They are way more than nice steps and technique improvers.

One of the things I realised this year is how hard it must be to coach a partnership when two people (us) need sometimes totally different things. They teach us as different students but also teach us to be good partners.

I am so lucky to have these coaches always trying their best to make me my best.

I had such a good time talking to Jenny Seaton today on Curtin Radio about our Hugo Dances book and dancing I actually didn’t want to stop at all!

I always try to be a good person to talk about Dancesport and how good it is in Australia so I hope my dance family liked it.

This afternoon Jenny Seaton interviewed the very talented Hugo Crisp family. Hugo and his mother Jay told the amazing story of his six year dancing journey and the circumstances that led to the publishing of their full colour children’s book ‘Hugo Dances’.

On the Afternoon Programme at 2.20pm today, Jenny Seaton will be speaking to Hugo Crisp Crow about the book ‘Hugo Dances’, a journey of embracing uniqueness.

Hugo Dances is a full-colour children’s book written by Jay Crisp Crow and Hugo Crisp Crow and illustrated by Olena Kiptelaya.

The rhythmic story has movement – just like dance – and follows Hugo’s journey through longing to start Ballroom Dancing, to questioning whether he ‘fits’, and uncovering the truth about what being a dancer is really about.
