💘 Issue 3 family 💘

This issue came together under the current strange circumstances, and like so many other projects we had to massively adjust our plans and release schedule. This all wouldn’t have been possible without our fantastic and patient contributors, and everyone else involved in bringing the issue to life such as the artists featured and those working behind the scenes to set up interviews/shoots/zoom shoots etc. We’re so grateful for every single person who helped to make up of all these 144 pages.

Thank you so much to everyone who has preordered a copy so far, thank you infinitely for supporting independent print, especially at this time. We think being able to hold something in your hands, read, and pick up whenever you like at a time when screens and digital platforms rule, is something very special and important and we’re glad so many of you think so too. 💌💌

Creating this space and this platform has only ever been an effort to celebrate and share the work of women and non-binary people in music, which we get to do through the support of every single one of you, and the support of our contributors and every musician or person involved, lending their talents to create something beautiful.

We’re so excited to share this issue with you.

Thank you,
Lola & Pam

"A question I constantly ask myself is am I progressing? And if I’m not, how can I be? I’ve heard you refer to transformation as a ‘downloading period’, a time that allows you to channel emotional information and reflect it back into your art. I admire most your awareness that the reinvention of the self is synonymous with the invocation of creativity and artistry. Seeing your courage energises me to do the same. It reminds me that the human experience is transmutable, and destruction is not finality, but a detour to creation and regeneration."

“I notice when I'm the only native person on a festival lineup. The way I think about it is that I’m hopefully helping more people who are indigenous or people of colour to have representation - but at the same time, I wish there were more because there are amazing indigenous bands out there, I've played with a bunch of them... I definitely feel there’s a lack of representation but I feel good about being in there and trying to open that door.”

Love Letters Zine

Love Letters Zine is an annual independent, printed publication dedicated to women and non-binary people in music.

Love Letters exists to celebrate the people in music who have inspired and impacted our own lives and work and is greatly influenced by original DIY fanzines. We also aim to create a space for important conversations in music, covering topics such as representation, diversity, and working within the industry.

Issue 3 is due for release later this year.
