Some dreams take longer to achieve than others, but it's ALWAYS worth the wait!
Running the London Marathon on Sunday was one of the best experiences of my life and something I'd dreamed of doing since I was 11 years old 🥰
Anyone who has tried entering the ballot over the years will know how hard it is to get a spot, and after ten unsuccessful attempts I decided to go down the charity route and commit to raising more money than I have ever raised in my life 🤣
It was bloody hard work and there were times I was worried I wouldn't reach my target and that I'd let my charity, Get Kids Going, down. I'm so thrilled to say that I hit my £1900 target and even managed a little bit extra.
I'm even more thrilled to say that despite wearing a knee brace, I managed a PB! I'm still on the slower side but my plan now is to listen to my body and work on getting my knee sorted and stick with shorter distances for now, so that I can come back much stronger and faster for my next marathon (next year is the plan!).
As you can see from the pics it was perfect marathon weather and London was looking 🔥🔥🔥
For anyone dreaming of running the London Marathon and feeling like it may never happen, PLEASE don't give up. You CAN make it happen and it could turn out to be one of the best things you ever do.
Am I incredibly sore? Yes 🤣
Have I already entered the ballot for next year? Maybe...🤫
