In case you didn’t know, I still offer the old style rod holders, with a much wider radius, it allows for the rod to move around more, and is a little wider for those custom rod handles that are bigger than the majority of rods on the market. The new radius is designed around the major rod companies on the market, such as Catch The Fever and MAD KATZ. The tighter radius will allow the rod to lay into a tighter area, securing it more, and keeps the rod from moving around in the wind.

Yesterday morning at 7:36am Game Warden Spencer Grace received a call from Lt. Stephen Paul about two fishermen stranded on the rocks with water rising below Kaw Dam. Warden Grace contacted Warden Larry Green and planned to meet at the new boat ramp on the Osage County side of the Arkansas River. Multiple other first responders had been dispatched to the area from a 911 call. OHP, Kay County Sheriff's Department, and Ponca City Fire EMS were already on the scene. The Wardens launched their boat and the two young fishermen (17 & 18 years old) were rescued. Both were wet from falling in the water and were thankful that the Wardens had arrived. Both men were delivered to the West Bank (Kay County side) where they were treated and released by Ponca City EMS. We are thankful this story had a happy ending. If you plan to fish the tailwaters below any dam, move to the safety of higher ground when you hear the warning sirens.
