In an interview with Josh Wilding, Shazam! actor Asher Angel spoke about his future in the DC Universe after all of the big changes in leadership at Warner Bros.

According to Black Adam star Dwayne Johnson, Henry Cavill's Superman is essential to the future growth of the DC Universe franchise under DC Studios.

"We have to bring back the most powerful, unstoppable force of all time in any universe. You guys know who I'm talking about, it's Superman. That's Henry Cavill. At the end of the day, the studio wasn't bringing Henry back, inexplicably and inexcusably but we weren't going to take no for an answer, This has been years in the making, bringing Henry Cavill back with strategic conversations and we were not going to take no for an answer. For us, there's no viable logical way to build out the DC Universe without the most powerful force and the greatest superhero of all time sitting on the sidelines, it's impossible to do. You can Venn diagram this thing 90 times but it all comes back to, 'Where's Superman?' You have to have Superman in the mix, so that's why we fought hard to bring Superman back." - Henry Cavill

Director David Ayer shared renewed optimism with fans that his cut of 2016's Su***de Squad will make its way to the masses after sitting for years on the shelf.

In recent tweet Ayer described James Gunn in amicable terms and reaffirmed his interest in seeing his Su***de Squad make its debut someday.

"He's always been a good guy," Ayer wrote. "Has been incredibly respectful to me. As far as my cut - Of course I want it seen. And I believe there's a real shot at it. It just won't be tomorrow."

The Flash editor Paul Machliss says the film's delay is partly due to its use of new technology.

"Nothing. No, it’s gonna be exciting. I mean, Warners has charged us with making the best film we possibly can. What I can say is that we’re gonna be utilizing… We’re the first film to be utilizing some very, very new technology in terms of getting multiple versions of the same actor on the screen, rather than using either locked off cameras or even the motion controls we used in [Last Night in Soho]. There’s been a development with some wonderful technology, which I’d love to be able to talk about now, but this time next year once the film’s out, we can go into total, scrupulous detail. But that is very, very exciting and I’m very pleased to say that we’re the first, certainly on a film of this scale to utilize it. Probably why it’s taken so long to finish actually. In a recent interview with Looper, Beast Boy actor Ryan Potter was asked who should play the show’s version of Superman in the event he makes an appearance. Potter was adamant that the DC Universe’s Henry Cavill is the perfect choice.

While appearing on an upcoming episode of The Wayne Ayers Podcast, out November 16, Stargirl actor Brec Bassinger revealed that Stargirl's season 3 finale was shot with two different endings.

"Geoff was so smart because obviously there's been a lot of changes in the CW and the Warner Brothers this past year, so the future of any show was not quite certain and because of that, he went the extra mile and shot two different endings, because he did not want to leave the fans with all these question marks.

Black Adam producer Hiram Garcia has seemingly confirmed that Atom Smasher's DC Universe future.

Garcia recently took to his Instagram to share a collection of Black Adam behind-the-scenes photos from the hit movie, including Centineo clad in his Atom Smasher uniform. Included in the post is a caption seemingly confirming Atom Smasher's DCU future,

"Loved watching the insanely talented Noah Centineo bring Atom Smasher to life! Can’t wait for you guys to see where we take this character!"

WB CEO David Zaslav admitted that "Marvel is seven, eight, nine times bigger," but that he feels like simply having icons such as "Batman" or "Superman" helps them stand on their feet.

"... When you compare DC to Marvel, Marvel is seven, eight, nine times bigger, but we have Batman, Superman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman. There’s a lot of opportunity there with Harry Potter. During an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, Andy Serkis, who portrays Alfred in Matt Reeves’ The Batman, says he would like a crossover with Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman in the sequel.

"I don't know where we are with Alfred now. I just don't know where that's going to go. I'm sure Matt Reeves is going to craft something incredible because he always does. Deadline reported that The CW has canceled DC's Stargirl after three seasons. The series was one of the few remaining in DC's wider Arrowverse franchise, though it was only tangentially connected through being part of the universe's wider Multiverse.

Following the announcement that James Gunn and Peter Safran are going to be DC Studios co-CEOS, the pair specifically noted five DCU superheroes, indicating that these are currently the five most important characters in the eyes of the studio.

As revealed via The Wrap, a memo has confirmed that the new name is simply The DC Universe. Otherwise shortened as DCU, this will replace DCEU as the official moniker endorsed by Warner Bros Discovery.

As noted in the memo by Warner Bros Discovery CEO David Zaslav himself:

“For over 60 years, these and other DC characters have captivated and inspired generations of fans around the world, and as stewards of the iconic franchise, we feel a real responsibility to preserve and expand the DCU for the enjoyment of future generations.”

DC has finally found its Kevin Feige, or two of them rather, in the form of James Gunn and Peter Safran.

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that writer/director Gunn and producer Peter Safran will become co-chairs and co-CEOs of DC Studios. The new studio will replace DC Films at Warner Bros. Discovery, which is being shuttered following Walter Hamada's exit.

Gunn will oversee the creative side of DC Studios, with Safran focusing on the business and production end. On top of their new duties, both creatives will continue working in their respective fields.

The Watchmen Rorschach actor felt that the DCEU sequel should be made by Zack Snyder again, calling for the studio to bring him back.

As reported by THR through their latest Heat Vision newsletter, Cavill's cameo in Black Adam was not part of a larger contract that would guarantee his DCEU future.

According to the newsletter, sources within the film industry suggest that the actor had only agreed to a one-off reprisal of his role in the post-credits scene, rather than a long-term agreement to return to the franchise.

Despite this, the studio is reportedly interested in seeing Cavill return in a larger capacity in future DCEU productions.

During an interview with ComicBook. Johnson confirms that he did indeed go straight to the Warner Bros. Pictures bosses in order to get the cameo idea greenlit.

"Well, I've known Henry for a long time. We're buddies. My longtime business partner, Dany Garcia, she has been a big advocate for Henry. She's managed Henry's career over the years. It came down to, dude, we love Superman. There is new leadership about to happen in Warner Brothers. Here's an opportunity. On our end of Black Adam, we will do everything we can to pay homage and respect to the mythology of Black Adam and build him as being the most powerful and unstoppable force on this planet. And if we do our job right, at the end of the movie, then in comes not only the most powerful and unstoppable force in the entire universe in Superman, but also the one that the fans want. And that's the difference. And that's the new era I'm talking about. This new era in the DC universe is we listen, man. We listen to the fans. We may not be able to do every single thing that they want, but they're going to know that they're not ignored because they've been ignored for so long. But we're going to listen to them, man. So in presenting that to Henry, he also... Man, when it comes to Superman, I don't know if there's any other person on the planet who loves and embodies the mythology, the ethos, and everything of Superman than Henry. And so I'm so happy that it all came together. I'm so happy the fans are losing their minds over it. And I'm so happy that there is a new shift in this DC universe.
