If the gift of the Holy Spirit before baptism proves that baptism is not essential to salvation (as many allege), why doesn’t the gift of the Holy Spirit before hearing the whole necessary message prove such words and faith not essential for salvation??!! (Acts 10-11:14-15). Cornelius and his household received the gift of the Holy Spirit manifested in miraculous gifts (Acts 10:45-46) NOT for salvation NOR to prove they were ALREADY saved, but to show all of mankind that Gentiles had been granted repentance unto life and could NOT be denied water baptism [God’s command] for remission of sins (Acts 10:47-48; 11:17-18)!

Man is justified by faith (Rom. 5:1). “Justification” is the equivalent of being “free from sin” (Rom. 6:18). But freedom from sin comes only to those who have been “obedient from the heart” to the “pattern” of gospel teaching (Rom. 6:17). Thus, justification is predicated upon obedience (cf. Heb. 5:8-9).

Again, justification or “being made free from sin” occurs when one is raised to walk in “newness of life” (Rom. 6:4). These expressions are equivalent. The process of justification is therefore consummated when one is “buried with [Christ] through baptism” and “raised” to the “new” life (Rom. 6:4a).

Finally, the result of justification is peace with God, freedom from penalty of past sins and the gift of eternal life (Rom. 5:1-2; 6:23).

"In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth" ~Genesis 1:1 This fact makes logical sense and gives us a much nobler purpose than: "In the beginning, rocks, dirt, water and possibly gases, somehow, some way, by sheer chance created the universe and all that is in it over billions of years! And now we function in an awe-inspiring highly organized universe! And even though on the evolutionary scale your life is no more valuable than a mosquito you shouldn’t murder, r**e, steal or lie because morality is merely a function of the human mind.” SAD INDEED a world without the Divine Creator Almighty God to whom we are all accountable (Acts 17:30-31). To the HONEST eye His invisible attributes are clearly seen being understood by the things that are made (Rom. 1:20)! Aaron J. Dodson
