Lots of musicians complaining on this trace. And understandably so.
Seems that the whole history of the business is that the managers earn more than the musicians. Those who have the talent, feeling and love to make music tend to treat money as a second issue. And the less artistic, less talented people who manage them get the more lucrative part of the deal.

From her revealing outfits to her sensual dance moves and recent comments about gay people, Zodwa Wabantu has had to come out to defend herself. In addition to all that she had her parenting skills questioned again but that she wasn’t willing to take that lying down.

In the overflowing comments section of Zodwa’s Instagram page under one of her many Vodacom Durban July posts, one follower wrote a lengthy comment expressing his disgust at Zodwa’s behaviour and the type of role model she is as a mother to a teenage boy.

Zodwa told TshisaLIVE it wasn’t the first time she received such comments and she usually ignores them, except she had time this time around.

“I don’t understand how they can tell me how to mother my own son. I think it’s ridiculous but I just thought I should let him [the follower] know that if he’s really serious, he must try and adopt my son and see if he’ll do a better job. My son is happy and taken care of, I don’t think anything else matters.”

Zodwa told the follower just where to get off and afterwards suggested that he must apply to adopt her son and tell social welfare exactly how she is lacking in the parenting department.

The entertainer also pointed out that social media users are not consistent and that is why it’s a waste of time to take offence at the things they say.

Just last week, she was praised for her heart-to-heart with her son, which she posted on Instagram, where she told her son to stay in school and make something of himself.

“I always emphasised to my son that he must not worry about what people say about me and the sh*t I do, he must just focus on school. I want him to be successful and even if he ends up not needing to use school, he must have education as back up.”

Former musical drum major Brian Chengela Shakarongo says Zambian art industry is slowly but surely moving from merely practicing for pleasure to operate as a business venture and full time career so that artistes can earn a living out of it.
Shakarongo who was vice chairman for Business and Dispersement Committee Art Business Forum during the Art Business Forum that ran from 12th to 14th June ,2019 at Government Complex in Lusaka , said the corporate institutions intervene in the entertainment business to help them (artist) so that they are regarded as full time entertainers and export their projects to other regions.
He appealed to stakeholders to emulate Government in sponsoring musicians so that they play music that stand the test of time,adding that music has to be documented as film sound track and signature tunes in local and international home grown documentaries.
“The Zambia Association of Musicians(ZAM) should be empowered for them to preserve the rich local music, including the Kalindula genre so that the future generations will use that as a template if they happen to innovate it during talent search competitions,” the enthusiastic Shakarongo stressed.

The business like looking Shakarongo said government have exhibited the will to make the Zambian industry to become fulltime and profitable and that it is up to the citizens and the corporate community to support the booming entertainment business by buying tickets to shows .
He said his organisation has been having discusions with the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) regarding tax incentives as well as Lusaka securities Exchange (LUSE) to make the art industry more viable.
The dreadlocked Shakarongo who is always in the annual legendary Bob Marley commemoration event committee said National arts council have entered into a partnership with the National pensions Scheme Authority (NAPSA) to ensure that artists are accommodated in terms of social security to avoid destitution in future.

SPAX MULENGA CHARGED WITH MURDER, MINISTERS MAKING FRANTIC EFFORTS TO FREE HIM

Kabaso Mulenga, known as Spax, the leader of the biggest jerabo network is still detained in Lusaka over allegations of terrorism. Spax Mulenga has now been moved to Chilenje police station and charged with several counts of murder. Police are still investigating and interrogating Spax over possible charges of terrorism.

There is however a desperate attempt by PF ministers led by Home Affairs minister Steven Kapyongo to release Spax as he can eventually spill the bins. The Watchdog further understands that Spax’s life could be in danger from people he was working with to gas citizens as they are now living in fear of being arrested.

Kabaso Mulenga, known as Spax was working with home affairs minister Steven Kapyongo and other ministers to coordinate and finance the gassing of citizens, an illegal operation that started on the Copperbelt, Chingola specifically. The plan was to stir up anger in the country and then blame UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema, arrest him for terrorism and hand him over to the USA. This would have knocked out HH from the ballot box for the 2021 presidential elections. Unfortunately, the plot backfired as the public responded by burning to death anyone caught gassing. Almost everyone pointed fingers at PF. According to security sources, president Edgar Lungu was not aware of the plot and at first genuinely believed that HH was behind the evil scheme. Sources say Lungu then instituted his own investigation outside the one controlled by Kapyongo and ordered that the new team of security agencies should get to the bottom of the operation and arrest anyone involved despite their party affiliation. Within two days of the presidential intervention, Spax Mulenga was arrested from his base on the Copperbelt and taken to Lusaka where he is still being interrogated in police custody. When Spax Mulenga was arrested, Rae Hamoonga, who was the deputy spokesperson on the police announced at a press briefing that the mastermind of the gassing had been arrested together with other suspects. This did not go well with Kapyongo who ordered police command to remove Himoonga and refute his statement that the mastermind had been arrested. Within 24 hours, Hamoonga was stripped of his position as deputy spokesperson of the police and taken to guard trains at Tazara. The country then was told that the mastermind is not yet arrested.

Home Affairs Minister Stephen Kampyongo, Keizer Zulu and Valden Findley have been identified as the people masterminding the project to destabilise the country through gassing of citizens, Zambia State Intelligence sources have revealed and President Edgar Lungu has been fully briefed.

Impeccable sources close to the operations have revealed that the whole project planning started sometime last year around October, but they never told President Edgar Lungu.

Xavier Chungu, as former Director of Intelligence, has been running a parallel intelligence wing mainly using some of his former loyalists within and outside the system.

These are the people that were engaged for this operation by Kampyongo, Keizer Zulu with funding from Valden Findley and some prominent businessman of Indian origin.

The operation also involved collection of police uniforms from Force Headquarters and Lilayi Police training camp under what they called “break in” in the stores. So far lots of police uniforms have been ‘stolen’ and being given to these PF operatives recruited by these people.

The gass being used was being imported in the country under the Ministry of Home Affairs but disguised as tear gas for the Zambia Police service.

“The involvement of these close associates of Lungu has made it difficult for the Police to take any of detained suspects to court because they will reveal a lot of things in testimony. We can almost bet that nobody will be taken to court for gassing citizens and even if they are taken, nobody will be convicted. Mr. Lungu now has the full intelligence report over these issues and knows his own people are involved to basically undermine his leadership”, sources revealed.

The people being used in this operation of gassing citizens are being paid as little as K1000 when they execute and get the balance afterwards. The money is being paid through mobile money services.

The real state intelligence briefed Edgar Lungu who had no idea what was happening and summoned Kampyongo and Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kanganja for Information.

“When Kampyongo was summoned, to implicate the UPND President Hakainde Hichilema and UPND of being behind these crimes. But it was one of those rare moments that Mr. Lungu defended Mr. Hichilema from this whole operation and told them he knew the people behind these crimes were within his government. The whole operation has embarrassed Mr. Lungu as he was not aware. That’s why he said he will not spare anyone involved whether from PF or opposition, because his own close associates are fully involved”, sources have revealed.

Sources said the motives for this operation by Kampyongo and others were to destabilise the country so that people can either rise against Edgar Lungu and be replaced or raise against HH so that he can be arrested and charged for treason.

“But the whole operation has backfired against the PF regime because some of the operatives have been very careless by gassing schools and other public places even during broad day light when the entire country is hunting for suspects and yet the army and police patrols all over. To make matters worse, citizens are venting their anger against the PF government by destroying police stations and other government infrastructure plus mob killing each other. They never anticipated people’s anger against the PF in the manner that people are now taking the law in their hands,” sources revealed.
