Mothers Day is bitter sweet for me. Sweet because I am celebrated for being a Mum. It's bitter, because I have memories of Mothers Day during my IVF journey, in tears just longing to be a Mum.
If that's you today, I'm sending you so much love and strength. I see you.

Yep!

This is what comes to mind when I think back to what Stuart and I had conversations about!

How long will we do IVF?
How much money should we spend?
When is it time to say stop?
Do we do PGS?
How are we going to pay for this?
Double transfer?
Donor s***m or embryos?

It's a lot to deal with!

One step at a time.

~Ally~

In todays episode, I sit down and chat with Ally. If you're experiencing secondary infertility or have been told you fit the 'advanced maternal age' category, this one is for you! Ally tells her story of secondary infertility, recurrent miscarriage, Endometriosis, DQ Alpha Gene match and being a Mum again at 40!

Thanks Ally!

That's all for 2022. Thank you for your support! More coming your way next year.

This!

I talk about this all the time!
When I was in high school, all that was talked about was how not to get pregnant and s*xualising transmitted infections.

We need to be educated from a young age about our cycle, painful periods, safe s*x, relationships, infertility, and pregnancy loss.

Thanks again
Feel like I'm always sharing your content!

If you have listened to my episode, you may remember Stuart and I talking about hitting our rock bottom. There is a particular memory I have of this...after our 7th failed transfer, went out to dinner with some friends, all who had kids. Stuart held our friends newborn...he got so overwhelmed that he had to hand the baby back and excuse himself as he walked away. I followed him. He was in tears and this man rarely crys. He said to me, when is it our turn? What are we going to do if it's never our turn? We held each other and cried.

Tonight, a few years later...I found myself staring at my own two little babes, enjoying their dinner out at the local pub. Everyday I'm so grateful for these beautiful babies.

Thank you Genevieve and Max. It had to be you xx

Never give up.

Truly heartbreaking when someone close to you has a miscarriage.

Holding my own babies a little tighter today.

~Em~

In todays episode, I sit down and chat with Em from .another.bad.egg. Her story so far is an interesting one! Her patience and resilience will pay off as her story continues.

The part that got my jaw dropping to the floor was that she didn't respond to the popular IVF drug Orgalutran... absolutely devastating!

Ems story still continues, you can follow along on .another.bad.egg and also read more stories on infertility and pregnancy loss shared by other women around Australia. Be part of the moment! We are starting conversations and reducing the stigma around infertility!

Thanks Em! Wishing you all the best and I look forward to your updates.

In episode 328 Rachel talks in depth about her ten rounds of IVF over seven years. She discloses the emotional toll of 15 embryo transfers, the challenge of seeing friends and family members fall pregnant with ease, and the simultaneous joy and fear of growing and birthing her miracle baby, Sigrid.

Seventeen months after giving birth, Rachel admits that she still cries when she thinks about that day when she finally met her daughter.

~Taleeha~

Taleeha retells her IVF tale. After trying to fall pregnant naturally for a year with no success, they sought help from a specialist, where she was diagnosed with PCOS. Taleeha experienced irregular periods and found it hard to track her ovulation. The first recommendation was to try OI which they did for many months with no success. It was time to see a fertility specialist, and further investigations were undertaken, which still gave no other reason for infertility. IVF was the next step. Taleehas story is a perfect example of 'it only takes one' as they fell pregnant on their first IVF cycle.

~Jade~

Jade talks to me all the way from the other side of the world. Many LOL and WTF moments in this one! Jade hilariously retells her IVF journey and the inspiration behind her memoir The good news is... you don't have Endometriosis.
Seeking help from multiple specialists, Jade had success with IVF and now has a beautiful 2 month old girl. Oh and she does actually have Endometriosis (another example of how important it is to advocate for yourself)

You can purchase her book on Amazon and Kindle.

~Maraea~

In todays episode Maraea talks about her infertility journey. Being diagnosed with PCOS at a young age, she knew she would likely need help to fall pregnant. Maraea would sometimes go over a year without a period, so it was almost impossible to track her cycle. Seeking advice from a fertility specialist the first step was to do a Laparoscopy/Hysteroscopy, however before organising to do this she fell pregnant naturally. Maraea goes into depth about her miscarriages, clomid cycles and failed transfers. She also sought a second opinion from another fertility specialist who ordered even more testing. Maraeas journey still continues. It was an absolute pleasure talking to Maraea, after ending the recording we spoke for another 30 minutes or so, it was another episode on it's own. Wishing you all the best Maraea!

23/06/2022

I would be lying if I said I never looked up the due date of every embryo transfer, wishing and hoping it would be true. We put everything into it, we dream of the positive outcome.

We go crazy in that two week wait. We try not to google, we try not to symptom spot. We want this so bad.

So when it doesn't go our way, it is devastating.

I see you.

Take the time to grieve. You lost something.
