Oh hey I’m back, hope everyone is well! Been a bit consumed with life happening all the time between the good, the bad, and the ugly. The reality of life is a roller coaster at least in my experience even though social media paints a different picture at times. I won’t get into details, it wouldn’t even sound real. My point is we are all going through something or multiple situations and it’s okay. Life is hard but it’s about how you persevere. Overcoming each obstacle and achieving new milestones creates a stronger resiliency. I am grateful to say fishing has always helped me persevere, building a stronger foundation than the last. Fishing brings me back to my roots, natures roots, friends, and family. We live in such a fast pace competitive society and it can blind you or pull you in a million different directions. Not only do I fish because it is a passion but to empower others to have the confidence and patience to fish while developing a deeper connection with nature and skills to prevail through the journey of life. It’s not just fishing, it’s a lifestyle! ⁣⁣

Free Fishing Days is an annual four-day celebration during which anglers can fish without purchasing a license, salmon stamp or inland trout stamp in Illinois.

It’s a great opportunity to introduce friends and family to the fun of fishing.

Night owl bassin for the win! Threw my pompadour to connect with this big mama on Friday night on the boat. I set the hook and my curado bait caster flew off my rod. I managed to get the reel back on the rod providing tension and began reeling. I couldn’t tell how big this fish was but a quick glimpse with the head lamp it looked like a pike from afar because it was so big and thrashing. As she got closer she was peeling away under the boat and finally got her in the net and my jaw dropped in awe. Took a few photos and she was safely released.

It’s been slightly over a month since this photo was taken and it only gains value in my heart. I didn’t win any cash at the Big Bass Bash, however, I weighed in on the 1st day of the tournament for my 1st time. I caught a healthy bass 20 minutes into the tourney on a chartreuse spinner slightly offshore near a brush pile. The fish appeared to be a large male so we kept working the brush pile and fan casting the area. We had hope we would reel into the momma monster nearby before heading to the weigh in to show up with two nice bass. We didn’t connect so we jetted in about 30 minutes from where we were fishing. I took the lead with a 3.96 lb male for the ladies bonus category which had me ecstatic. I fish the Big Bass Bash every year for the past 4 or 5 years with my dad. We have caught plenty of quality bass but we are always set on the 7-8 lb big bass to take 1st place. We still are but that was a fun experience to share with my dad, my mom, and of course my friends and family! Cheers until next tourney! ⁣

Big mamas were biting yesterday evening, putting on an acrobatic show for my dad and I! It was exciting catching so many healthy fish in a short period of time. I was amped up from one catch while reeling into another back to back! We caught over 20 healthy fish in 2 hours! Lots of 4s & 3s! Always grateful to get out and enjoy nature but especially grateful when nature nurtures you extra! ⁣

Toothy Thursday since I missed my musky Monday! Guys, I caught my first musky ever and unexpectedly ice fishing! This past weekend my pops and I took a trip up to and fished with . ⁣

Heading back from setting up tip ups, a flag flies and I see it spinning. I was excited to get a tip up but was ecstatic when I saw the musky slide pass and peel away time and time again. Popped this beaut through the hole and was shaking in joy. Fish was safely released and took off with oomph! ⁣

About time! Finally got out to enjoy a wee bit of ice fishing with my pops. Jigged for a couple hours after work and caught crappies and gills. Beyond grateful getting outdoors to spend quality time with family while catching fish! ⁣

No ice in Illinois but ya girl is still hitting open water until I have the opportunity to travel north. Caught this beautiful walleye on a Rerange 110MR in the secret shad color. Two twitches and a 5 second pause and wam bam connected with this beaut of a walleye. Second to best PB in length but definitely the healthiest walleye I have ever caught. Beyond grateful for moments like these. Cheers! ⁣
