The annual Silver Bridge Memorial was held on Friday, Dec. 15, the anniversary of the tragedy which claimed the lives of 46 people in 1967. The ceremony took place at 6th and Main streets in Point Pleasant, where the bridge once rested. The ceremony included the lighting of the tree on the lawn of the Mason County Courthouse. Surrounding the memorial tree are angels with the names of those 46 victims. Prior to the tree lighting, the memory of the late Jack Fowler, who was a consistent presence and participant in the annual ceremony, was recognized. (Video by Mason County Extra Edition)
