Modulum Audio has recently developed a new musical instrument which is in fact a tuned platform for double bass and cello. Here it is used by Montreal bassist Frédéric Alarie. It is fitted with strategically placed harmonic absorbers on its underside. The result is spectacular: The sound is full bodied, projected and coherent. The Modulum platform was initially developed for high-end audio components such as amplifiers, turntable and loudspeakers. It is used by major audio manufacturers such as Nagra and by mastering studios such as 2XHD. www.modulumaudio.com
