EXAMPLE
Sara: I don’t understand people who see Writers Resist and think “I should send them my small tit p**n.” What exactly is that resisting?
Mom: Big tit p**n?
Sara: Right.
Mom: Little pe**er p**n.
Sara: Nobody wants that.
Mom: But is it resistance? That’s the question.

Sara Marchant's octogenarian mother has a huge cult following on social media. This is the planner for all those followers to start their days with a chuckle. New followers are welcome—all you need is a pen and to be able to remember what year it is.

Were I not tracking the Christian-nationalist movement, this article would've been a shocker. Instead, it elicited a disdainful fart.

"Training materials produced by the Florida Department of Education direct middle and high school teachers to indoctrinate students in the tenets of Christian nationalism, a right-wing effort to merge Christian and American identities. Thousands of Florida teachers, lured by cash stipends, have attended trainings featuring these materials.

"A three-day training course on civic education, conducted throughout Florida in the summer of 2023, included a presentation on the "Influences of the Judeo-Christian Tradition" on the founding of the United States. According to speaker notes accompanying one slide, teachers were told that "Christianity challenged the notion that religion should be subservient to the goals of the state," and the same hierarchy is reflected in America's founding documents. That slide quotes the Bible to assert that "[c]ivil government must be respected, but the state is not God." Teachers were told the same principle is embedded in the Declaration of Independence." –from Popular Information

Two years after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, a majority of Americans continue to support abortion access.

Why would anyone who knows abortion should be legal in all or most cases vote for anyone who doesn't?

Source: Pew Research Center

Views are split by political party, but support for legal abortion has risen modestly in both groups since before the 2022 Dobbs decision.
