UPDATE: COLE HOSACK

A suspect was arrested and then released in connection with the disappearance of Cole Hosack.

An article by CJDC-TV reports that 3 men have been under surveillance in connection with Cole’s missing file.

Here is an excerpt from the article.

A CJDC TV News investigation has learned that the RCMP have made an arrest in connection with Cole’s disappearance.

Hosack was last seen on security camera footage heading down a back alley near the TD Bank on 11th Street, around 11 p.m. that night.

Security camera footage from Fountain Tire then showed a pick-up truck about a minute later, heading down the same alley. A source said three men were inside the pick-up, however it is not clear if they were the same three individuals that chased Cole from the bar moments before.

A source told CJDC TV News that the driver of the pick-up was arrested in connection with Cole’s disappearance. He was questioned and then released without being charged.

It is not clear when the suspect was taken into custody by police, but CJDC has learned, three suspects were under police surveillance for a period of time. It is also not clear why the other two suspects were also not arrested.

Hosack stopped in Dawson Creek on New Year's on his way to Medicine Hat to start a new job. He and three other people went to the Lone Star that night. It is believed words were exchanged with three men who approached Cole while he was playing pool.

Cole went outside to have a cigarette when he was confronted. A fight ensued and Cole ran across Alaska Avenue to escape.

Three men were reported to have chased him across the Alaska Avenue. A source tells CJDC TV News that the same three men were seen on security camera footage, turning around and heading back to the bar.

A source also told CJDC, that Cole was hit by a vehicle while crossing the street before heading down the alley beside the TD Bank.

Amber Manthorne was last seen in her Vancouver Island community of Port Alberni on July 7, 2022, leaving her loved ones and the community searching for answers. Her white 2021 Jeep Compass was found abandoned two days later, near a logging road outside Nanaimo. In a chilling twist, security footage shows her ex-boyfriend, Justin Hall, driving her vehicle and struggling with a suitcase and a large plastic tote in the early hours of July 8. The large black plastic tote seen in the footage has never been recovered.

The RCMP now believe that Amber was likely the victim of foul play, with Hall as a key person of interest. Yet Hall's own death in Merritt last year has left police with more questions than answers, and Amber’s family still waits for closure. In this episode, we speak with Laura Palmer, host of the podcast Island Crime, who covered Amber’s case in-depth. Together, we examine the events surrounding Amber’s disappearance, the disturbing details caught on camera, and the lingering questions that haunt those still hoping for answers.
