This activity is perfect for end-of-year vocabulary revisions. It gets the students to revise words from different categories and make connections between them.
🧠 It's a very brain-friendly type of activity 🧠
Ok, here we go:
1️⃣ On the board write a few pairs of unrelated words or phrases you want to revise.
2️⃣ The students try to make connections between them. They could use both in the same sentence or talk about what connects the two words.
👉 For example, "delayed – sandwich". For this pair of words, the students could make a sentence: “My train was delayed and I didn’t have enough time to get a sandwich for my lunch.”

OK, here we go:
Prepare a list of useless items, for example:
👉 winter sandals
👉 a glass hammer
👉 used adhesive tape
👉 a bag of air
👉 a table with a leg missing
👉 a bag with salt and sugar mixed together
Allocate each student (or a pair of students) one of the useless items.
Their task is to sell it to the others - they have to talk about the advantages and possible uses of these items 🙃
To practise conditionals, ask them to come up with advertising slogans for these items:
If you get/use ... , you will ....
If you used daily...., you would ...
Let us know what you think and whether you're going to try it in your lessons 😊
