I'm lucky to call Jamie Daniel McCartney one of my best and longest friends. Jamie is currently The Physical Performance Lead and Technical Push Coach for Alpine Canada. Before that he was the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the U.S. Paralympic Ski Team. In this episode we talked about how his life shaped him into a perfect fit for this role, how he turned being bullied as a kid into standing up to people, protecting others and learning how to become successful in life. Jamie is known for being physically strong, but one of the cool things we talked about in this episode is the importance of mental fortitude and how amazing the Paralympian's he worked with were mentally. Jamie is a hell of a guy and if you listen to this episode I think you find a lot to take away from it!

Éadin O'Mahony is an Irish Marine Biologist, conservationist and activist. She spent six months last year living on an island just off B.C.'s Great Bear Rainforest where she worked with B.C. Whales using drones to hover above whales and collect their snot as they exhaled.

Éadin is currently doing her Masters project analyzing the DNA in the whale snot through St. Andrews University in Scotland.

In this episode Éadin talks about her field work reintroducing elephants and rhinos in South Africa, working with an Amazonian tribe in Ecuador to study plant diversity and help keep oil companies out, studying sleep behaviour in Squid in Okinawa, Japan and some amazing experiences she's had with whales and elephants!

Raised near the sea in Ireland, Eadin formed a strong connection to the ocean that made her want to spend the rest of her life protecting it. One of the ways we can help protect our ocean is to educate ourselves, and listening to people like Eadin is a great place to start!

The 5th guest on the podcast is Canadian Pro Surfer Peter Devries. Pete is a household name among surfers and has helped to put Canadian surfing on the map! A humble and kind person, it was an honour to have Pete on the podcast. In this episode Pete and I talk about growing up in Tofino in the 80’s and 90’s, close calls on boat trips, why being a competitive surfer wasn’t for him, his family and what helped him progress his surfing.

Episode 1 of Their life Story podcast is now out with my good friend Malcolm Daly ! Malcolm is a talented surfer, entrepreneur and Master Electrician.

This episode gets surprisingly deep and I wanted to thank Malcolm for being so real and open. We talk about a lot of stuff people don't usually like to talk about including mental health and personal experiences, and the people that played a big role in his life.
