The Navajo legend of the skin-walker is an underrated, misunderstood, and terrifying folk tale figure. Roughly translated from the Navajo phrase "it walks on all fours", the skin-walker is capable of disguising itself or possessing various animals, including humans. Tales of skin-walkers ended in death, for either the Native heroes or the wicked shapeshifters. I say this is "misunderstood " because there is a reluctance to discuss skin-walker lore outside of the Navajo culture. And the stories outsiders usually end up telling often get confused with the subject of next week's podcast. See you in season two!
