We’re in the beautiful city of Merida Mexico, which is well-known as one of the safest and happiest places in all of Mexico. Each time we visit, it becomes harder to pinpoint exactly what it is that makes this city so special 🇲🇽☀️

In December 2023, the Mexican government inaugurated the first passenger train service in the Yucatan Peninsula, known as the Tren Maya. The project is set to offer routes from Chetumal to San Cristobal in the state of Chiapas, in hopes of dispersing tourism more equally across the South of the country. This new mode of transportation could be a serious game changer in terms of not just tourism, but also economic upliftment in the region. The launch got off to a bit of a rocky start but we’re here a few months later to assess the efficiency of this new railway system.

When I moved to Playa del Carmen, Mexico with my then-boyfriend, I never imagined I’d end up exploring the city solo. Now that Geovanny’s back at work, it’s mostly just me and baby Ted 🧸, and let me tell you, it’s been quite the adventure.

In this vlog, I’m taking you along for a typical day in Playa del Carmen. I’ll share what I’ve learned and all the experiences I’ve had so you can be better prepared for your own move to Mexico.

It’s FINALLY OFFICIAL, I became a permanent resident of Mexico! There are multiple ways to become a resident of Mexico and I was able to do so through marrying Geovanny (A Mexican Citizen), which is one of the easiest ways of going about it.

If you’ve ever dealt with INM (Immigration) in Mexico, you’ll know how tedious the process can be and how much time is typically wasted. The last couple of times, we did the whole immigration process ourselves, and we can comfortably say that it’s not worth the frustration and HOURS wasted.

This time around, we decided to apply for my residency with the help of an immigration specialist and contacted Milly Arceo from Legally in Mexico. All we needed to do was send the relevant documents over to the Legally In Mexico team. They did all the tedious paperwork and made my appointment at immigration. All I had to do was show up on the day of my booking - a voila, I became a permanent resident!

We’ll be releasing a full YouTube video on what the process was like THIS SUNDAY, so look out for that. In that video, we’ll also be revealing an awesome new program that allows foreigners to apply for residency without having to meet certain income requirements. Two years ago today, we eloped, and it's unbelievable how quickly those two years have flown by. We're incredibly grateful for each other. This year has been a roller coaster with both joyous and challenging moments, but we feel blessed to navigate this journey together, alongside our beautiful Ted. ❤️ 🥰
