This weekend, I got out of the house to serve women in Lafayette at the Abide Women's Conference
I realized 20 minutes into my drive to the conference that I'd forgotten the two most important things: my Bible and my journal 🤦🏻‍♀️
But my great husband and kids, made the hour drive just to bring them to me today!!!

We've taken a little break from recording to journey with these new missionaries that are in formation to be sent to the ends of the earth in January 2022. 3 families, 2 single men & 5 single women. My favorite movie when I was in middle school was TITANIC - we paid to see it SOOOOO many times in theaters // I eat vegemite & LOVE it from my time growing up in Australia // I totally had straight bangs in lots of periods of my schooling days // my oldest daughter acts like a teenager (no joke!) // I used to dance for my high school poms team & college dance team // my best friend is still my husband after 10 years of marriage // and when he's away, I have a hard time sleeping alone in our bed.

Human pride, what are you complaining about with all your anxieties? That you are nothing in the world? What kind of figure was Jesus? What kind of figure was Mary? They were the wonder of the world, a spectacle for God and his angels, and what did they do? Of what consequence were they? What sort of name did they have? And you wish to be renowned and celebrated? You know neither Mary nor Jesus. You want a position that will show off your talents, not bury them. But Jesus makes use of you and gives you these talents, for which he tells us that he will demand an account. The talent that is buried with Jesus and hidden in him: is that not lovely enough in his eyes? Go. You are vain, and you are seeking in an activity that you think to be pious and useful only a pasture for your self-love.

We are all promised suffering in this life, but suffering is only a piece of the puzzle. Fr.
