We’re looking for journalists across Asia Pacific (and beyond) to help us build a library of Creative Commons footage of climate change. This footage will include visuals of the impacts and solutions to climate change. And journalists can apply for $500-1000 to cover the expenses of their work.
A big thank you to Earth Journalism Network and Sida who are supporting this project.

An animation of a podcast recording set up in a clothes closet
It’s long been a dream of ours to launch our own podcast because it’s one of our favourite ways to learn about the world and to listen to the perspectives of others. And in February this year, we were finally able to start publishing podcast versions of our interviews more regularly.
The In Old News podcast brings you interviews with journalists from all over the world who make us rethink some of the things the journalism industry has taken for granted. Since we started our Q&A series, we’ve interviewed journalists from over 13 countries and 14 publications, as well as 4 independent journalists and creators.
We’ve had conversations about equal pay and equal credit, the importance of reclaiming narratives from mainstream media, engaging with the public on how we do what we do, and how the mental health of journalists is inextricably linked to the health of the media industry.
Make sure to subscribe and share, so that we can reach more journalists who are passionate about rethinking this industry.

All journalism starts local, with Nic Dawes
We spoke to Nic Dawes from THE CITY NY about how metro reporting is gratifying in more ways than one.
"One of the things that I find most inspiring about our team is that so many of them have told me they're not looking to graduate to The New York Times or the BBC or even Vox Media. They want to work in local news," he told us.
This week, we’re bringing you our interview with the managing director, Mercy Abang, and editor-in-chief, Tina Lee, of Unbias the News (a newsroom by Hostwriter). We wanted to speak to them about the work they do and how they see their work as an effort to increase representation in media. We talked about some ways that journalists are affected by lack of financial transparency and pay gaps while covering topics like inequality for their newsrooms.
