I've seen this reflection somewhere and thought of personalising it...

👉 When flashlight grows dim or quits working, do you just throw it away?
👉 When a person messes up or find themselves in a dark place, do you cast them aside?

Definitely not!

If we can and able, we help them change their batteries.

Wait ✋️ Before You Go...

Here are some tips before you fly to your next destination.

1. Destination - Research if it's safe to travel to the desired country. Check the climate, activities, accessibility or cost of living, and language.

2. Document - The is at least 6mo valid (check the country as some may require 1yr validity). Visa if required. Health or vaccination cert. permit, prescriptions, etc.

3. Flight - Check ahead of time. Seasonality - peak or off-peak. Book between 64-94 days prior to the desired trip. Flight compare or ask your trusted agents.

4. Accommodation - Research. Check your budget and be keen on the fine print esp. is it daily rate or the entire stay. Near the restaurants? Popular spots, activity centers, markets, mall, and hospital (for emergencies). Plus, read the reviews. It will help a lot.

5. 24-hours prior to flying - Check any notification from the
(need to be resched or cancelled). Already packed essentials, dollars, and credit or debit card in your easy-access safety, carry-on bag. Weigh your to avoid excess. Have enough and never forget to alarm.

When are you most creative?

There is a vlogger I came across and he mentioned that he is more creative when he is emotionally hurt... and I've seen how intense his creativeness really and I feel the emotions on his videos.

But as for me, this quote speaks to me.

I get more creative when I am at peace and relaxed, not in pain or too happy. I feel more at peace when I am alone. More in tune with my brain and my heart to be creative. In turn, I get to reflect more - it's just like having a spa day. 💆‍♀️

I like my personal space. But if my job will require being around people, say an event, I am dead afterward. Like my creative brain shuts down. 😵

While this is so true and I highly believe in this, human as we are, there's no satisfaction.

We start with a kit, then we lens upgrade. Then, we get another one... and another... and another.

Whatever gear you may have or you've accumulated, there's no gear that can beat a good eye in photography.

What do you do when all you hear is noise, all you see is sorrow and all you feel is pain?

Photography has nothing to do with cameras. - Lucas Gentry

I got my ever first investment (i.e. camera) on 2017 with no idea how to use a DSLR. Luckily, I am in a place where I am blessed and had the privilege of enrolling myself in different photography courses. Thanks, Nikon .nikonuae Nikon School Dubai, and up to this point, I carry all the learnings, and Nikon D7100 still is my companion.

Regardless of what equipment you have, it is all about your perspectives. Capeesh?! 😘❤😁

There's an old sayin'

"Whatever you feel, get up, dress up and get going."

This is so true to its core, at least in my perspective and how I apply it at work. This has helped me become the better version of myself every time procrastination or laziness is kicking in . The moment I get to practice it, it is nudging in mi noggin'

So in my photography perspective, I say - "Whatever gadget you have, GEAR UP, LENS UP and JUST TAKE THE SHOT!"

We are not becoming experts in our craft by letting it sleep in our cabbies or lounge in the dust.

Is being creative born on not?

It's like saying, you have a natural-born talent. Ever heard of this one?

I really think that our mind is diverse and has its own way of adapting. There might have a scientific impact in terms of genealogy. But I just think, and you may take this with a grain of salt, that if you put your mind and partnered it with your heart, it wasn't really a born talent or a creative talent for that matter.
Relatively, I've stopped pursuing perfection because there's no such thing. Otherwise, anxiety keeps on building up. You keep on staring at what you are doing, and it will never be good enough. You keep on finding flaws. Hence, it might be inspiring in the eyes of some.

My unsolicited advice, be cool to yourself and just get on with it. Build your own world of creativity and have fun in the process.

Is it true?

The saying goes, "tell me who your friends are and I'll tell you who you are"

There's truth to this plus more... Here are some of the amazing women who are not just friends, who are not just brilliant and I genuinely admire and love -  but through and through will back you up and stretch their beautiful hands and arms to help you get back up and  hug you dearly... unconditionally.

Oh! And I almost forgot  to mention... will constructively judge you! 😘😘😘

So is it true? For me it is.

❤ Self- love | What does this really mean?

1️⃣ Make Yourself a Priority | Would this mean you are being selfish?

You could have encounter such statements before.

Perdoname for bumping into your news feed with some cliche' statements 🙏

But this got me thinkin' - what would be the benefits for self-love or making yourself a priority?

Here are my TOP 3

1. Self-actualization. You will be able to set some boundaries which are your non-negotiables and negotiables. You focus more on what truly matters and actions become purposeful.

2. Freedom - letting go of the external expectations and focus on developing oneself. Not only it could be freeing - mentally, emotionally and add to that spiritually - but it'll be more favorable to people whom you want to spent time with. Because they will receive the best version of you.

3. Clarity - with the hustle and bustle of our life and the generation we are in so to speak, we could probably get overwhelmed and it's getting harder to keep up. Take a pause, look at yourself in the mirror or better receive the healing power of saltwater and sea breeze.🏞 Works for me! 🤭 Then, have an x-ray vision of your inner self... magnify. What do you see?

There's no black and white answer to all of these reflective questions. Let's not box ourselves to the stigma because that is what was and what is expected of us, or taught to us culturally.

In a nutshell, is it selfish to prioritize and care for yourself so you can give more and be more to other people?
