Everyone wants to know where to spend their marketing budget.

Here’s the advice we’d give if you only had $500 a month to work with:

Don’t spend it all on ads.

That’s the fastest way to burn through your
budget and end up with nothing to show for it.
Instead:

📸 $250 → One content day
Spend a few hours capturing enough photos and videos to fuel a month of content. Your audience needs to see you before they buy from you.

🚀 $150 → Boost your best post
Not every post. Just the one that’s already getting attention organically. Let the data tell you what deserves extra reach.

⚙️ $100 → Tools that save time
Scheduling, design, automation. The things that make marketing happen consistently instead of becoming another unfinished task.

The mistake most businesses make?

They put the whole $500 into ads while their website, social pages, and content are still empty.
Ads only amplify what’s already there.

If your online presence doesn’t build trust, more traffic just means more people leaving.

A small budget can still create real growth when
every dollar has a job.

What would you spend your first $500 on?

Your logo is not what people fall in love with. You are.

We see it every week with Wellington and Kāpiti businesses. The moment the owner steps in front of the camera, the numbers move.

Founder content earns two to four times the engagement of brand-account posts, because people trust a face, not a logo they scroll past.

You do not need a studio or a script. One honest video this week is enough to start.

Camera-shy? That is normal. Comment “FACE” and we will send you our simple first-video framework.

Seriously though, one of the hardest things in social media isn’t creating content.

It’s admitting you need help creating content.
Most business owners know they should be posting more, showing up more, and building their brand online. The challenge is finding the time, confidence, strategy and consistency to actually do it.

That’s where we come in.

We help businesses turn ideas into content, content into attention, and attention into opportunities. Whether it’s video production, social strategy, founder content or ongoing management, our job is making social media feel a whole lot easier.

So if you’ve made it this far DM us the word Content and we can help you

Revisiting some founder content we created for Donut Express recently and it’s a great reminder of why founder-led content continues to outperform.

People don’t connect with logos. They connect with people.

In a world where audiences are constantly being sold to, founder content creates trust, credibility and familiarity in a way polished brand content simply can’t. It gives customers a face behind the business, a story behind the product and a reason to care.

For growing businesses, especially franchises and service brands, founder content helps communicate vision, values and expertise while building a stronger connection with both customers and future partners.

The brands seeing the most success on social right now aren’t necessarily creating more content. They’re putting the right people in front of the camera.

Sometimes the most powerful marketing asset in a business is the founder themselves.

Some of the best content we create ends up reminding us just how lucky we are to work where we do.

This year we’ve had the chance to capture some incredible businesses, events, and locations, and this project was no different.

Every time we film at Waikanae Golf Club, we’re reminded how special this part of the coast really is. From the aerial views rolling over the fairways to the light hitting the course at just the right time, it’s one of those places that looks even better through the lens.

The drone shots, the scenery, and the atmosphere all came together to showcase what makes WGC such a unique destination.
Creating content is great. Creating content in places like this is even better.

A recent piece of work we created for Waikanae Golf Club, capturing the moments that make this course more than just a place to play.

Sometimes the best content comes from simply letting the scenery do the talking.

450 leads. No big following. No big budget. No clear direction when they started.

So what changed?

They stopped guessing and started using a simple, repeatable content strategy:

Speak to ONE person
Every video opened with a line that made a specific person stop scrolling. If it didn’t feel personal, it didn’t get posted.

Keep it short enough to rewatch40 to 60 seconds. Long enough to deliver value, short enough that people watched it more than once. That repeat viewing matters more than you think.

No hard selling
Not once did they say “buy this.” Instead:“If you found this useful, comment or send us a message.”
That small shift triggered more engagement, which told the algorithm the content was worth pushing further.

More reach.
More conversations.
More leads.

450 of them.

Here’s the part most business owners miss:They didn’t start with paid ads.

They tested content organically first. Found what worked. Then scaled the winners.

You don’t need to go viral.
You need to be specific enough that the right person feels like you’re talking directly to them.

Try it on your next video.

Everyone’s still obsessing over hashtags like it’s 2020
Meanwhile the algorithm is watching one thing only

Are people stopping… or scrolling?

If your content doesn’t grab attention in the first 3 seconds
It doesn’t matter how “optimised” your caption is

No one sees it
The game now is simple

Hook attention → hold attention → earn distribution

Stop stuffing hashtags

Start engineering better openings

That’s how you win in 2026

26/04/2026

You’ve got less than 3 seconds.

That’s how long people give your video before they decide to keep watching or move on.

So editing isn’t the final stepit’s the part that matters most.

Cutting in and outchanging the order of clipspacingsubtitles

These small decisions are what hold attentionor lose it instantly.

23/04/2026

You didn’t fall off… you just got busy.

You started posting consistently.

Then work picked up.
Then content became “I’ll do it later.”
And now every time you open Instagram… it’s just guilt.

Sound familiar?

You’re not alone. Most business owners in New Zealand are juggling everything, and social media is usually the first thing to slip. Not because it doesn’t matter, but because there’s no system behind it.

So here’s what actually works:
Stop trying to post every day.Start batching your content.
Pick one day a month. Lock it in.
That’s your content day.

Keep it simple.
A raw video on your phone that actually connects will outperform a polished video you spent hours overthinking.

And if you can’t sustain it, get support.
Because inconsistency is what’s killing your growth, not the algorithm.

You don’t need to be perfect. You just need to keep showing up.
