๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐, ๐๐ด๐ข๐ฃ๐ฆ๐ญ๐ข - Teachers from Santo Tomas District convened at Santo Tomas National High School on January 29, 2024 for a day of professional development at the 2024 District In-Service Training gathering altogether the educators from various schools within the district for a day of insightful sessions and collaborative learning.
The event featured a series of interactive discussion led by distinguished speakers, addressing crucial topics in education.
Mr. Junimar Aggabao, Teacher III of Calanigan National High School, commenced the training with an engaging session on Collaborative Expertise. Teachers delved into discussions highlighting the importance of shared knowledge and collaborative efforts within the teaching community. He also stressed the role of teachers in resolving one of the dilemmas of the Philippine educational system โthe learning loss and gaps.
"The more the teachers are equipped, the more possibilities of learning recovery. With adequate resources, training, and support, we can make it happenโ said Aggabao.
In the second session, Mrs. Felidar A. Beltran, School Principal II, took the stage to discuss Differentiated Instructions, focusing on practical strategies to accommodate the diverse learning needs of students. The session emphasized the importance of tailoring and planning the approaches especially when using Differentiated Instruction to ensure its success ex*****on.
"The successful ex*****on of Differentiated Instruction activities hinges on meticulous planning, considering diverse learning needs, employing flexible strategies, and making proactive adjustments for an inclusive and engaging educational experience," Beltran stressed.
Meanwhile, Mr. John Mark Balete, Master Teacher I, provided educators with innovative strategies for managing classes of varying sizes (Small, Medium, and Large). Teachers actively participated in discussions gaining practical tools to navigate the challenges posed by different class dynamics. Balete emphasized flexibility and personalized approaches tailored to each class setting.
In the afternoon session, Mr. Tonison Talaue, Head Teacher III and Juris Doctor, explored the essence of Teaching Philosophy, guiding educators through reflective discussions about their personal philosophies and their impact on teaching practices. He enlightened the minds of the teacher-participants with a deeper understanding of their roles and a renewed sense of purpose in the classroom.
The training concluded with Ms. Christine Joy Ramos, Teacher I of Santo Tomas National High School, leading a session on Comprehensive Classroom Assessment. Teachers explored effective assessment strategies beyond traditional testing through HOTS SOLO PLP.
Furthermore, participants expressed enthusiasm for the comprehensive nature of the training, praising the practical insights gained as they believe that the knowledge and skills acquired during the training are anticipated to enhance the overall learning experiences of the learners across the district.
