The Fall And Rise Of Electric Cars

In 2021, 6.7 million new electric cars were registered. This is more of an increase in electric cars than the last 5 years put together. General Motor’s EV1, Toyota’s hybrid Prius, and Tesla’s Roadster are the pioneers of this new era of the electric vehicle. It is certain that the popularity of Electric cars is growing but, it is still not as popular as it was once.

Galileo Galilei was the first person to observe Saturn through a telescope, his tiny refractor was not powerful enough to discern its rings for what they were. Instead, he noted that the gas giant had "lobes." Dutch astronomer Christiaan Huygens was the first to propose that Saturn was surrounded by a ring in 1655. He's credited with discovering Saturn's rings.

Casu martzu is a Sardinian delicacy, a traditional sheep’s milk cheese that contains live maggots.

Most cheeses are fermented to achieve desired texture, however, casu martzu achieves its soft consistency via the acids produced by the cheese fly larvae (Piophila casei) as it breaks down the fats of the cheese. By the time a typical casu martzu cheese is ready to eat, it will contain thousands of these larvae living inside.

The cheese has been banned from the EU and US, but it is still sold on the black market and can fetch double the price of a regular pecorino cheese.

"I went to Rome and all I got you was this stylus!"
This Ancient Roman pen with an inscribed joke dates back nearly 2,000 years. It was found under the streets of London. The inscription has been translated by classicist and epigrapher Dr Roger Tomlin. It reads:
‘I have come from the City. I bring you a welcome gift
with a sharp point that you may remember me.
I ask, if fortune allowed, that I might be able (to give)
as generously as the way is long (and) as my purse is empty.’
