📢 let me me introduce you to our newest members of our homestead!! We have added 3 Nigerian Dwarf Goats and are loving them!! 🐐

🔅One of the main reasons we decided to leave our home in Colorado and buy land in Tennessee is to finally follow our dreams of being self sufficient. 👩🌾 it’s beyond exciting that we’re able to build this life that we’ve for so long, only dreamed of. 🙏🏽

We have officially broke ground! We set the posts and poured the concrete for our self built barndominium home.

Walking and exploring our property on a beautiful foggy morning in East Tennessee. 🌫️
🚨 UPDATE- We have a building that is ALMOST completely enclosed. We are waiting on 1 more window to come in (it arrived broken back in September). Hopefully it comes by the end of this month. 🤞🏽 We’ll install garage doors once the plumbing is done and the concrete slab has been poured.
Ohhh weeee! I’m not going to lie, the last 6 months have been a rollercoaster of emotions. There’s days where we question what we’re doing and why we’re doing it. There are days where nothing goes right and we feel like we’ve made a huge mistake giving up our wonderful lives back in CO. 🫣
When we have those days I have to stop and pray for strength to keep going. I remind myself why we’re doing what we’re doing, because truthfully, you can forget when you’re in the thick of things. I have to constantly remind myself the reasons we decided to live out this dream and this lifestyle.🕯️
It’s a pretty big sacrifice to live this way. I know though, that in the end we are beyond blessed and have everything we need. 💫
And what a beautiful and humble reminder it is to live through this experience daily. 🙏🏽

Today was a BIG DAY! We officially have posts in the ground! YAYYY!! It’s been raining a lot which makes things very difficult when you’re trying to build a house. But today the weather was beautiful and over the next few days we’ll have all the posts in the ground. I can’t tell you how exciting this is!! On Friday we’re having concrete poured into all the holes. PS - Our first YouTube video will be ready very soon! 🤗

We really needed this tonight. I needed a break from cooking in the rain. A break from working from sun up to sun down. A good ol’ family dinner where we could hangout and be together. The food was unbelievably delicious 🤤 and the views were stunning! 🌈

My name is Cheyenne, my husband is Owen & this is our family. ✨ We took this picture back in Beautiful Colorado before moving to The Smoky Mountains in East Tennessee. We are building a barndominium with our very own hands (with no experience whatsoever).
We feel extremely blessed to have this opportunity and thank God everyday for what he’s done in our lives. 🙌🏽

Before & Current 😏 the picture on the top is from 5/28/22 and the picture on the bottom is from today - 7/13/22. Sometimes you have to look back at the pictures you’ve taken.... just to remember the progress that has been made. In less than 2 months this little piece of raw land we purchased has been completely transformed!! It’s been extremely difficult since we got here, yet the reward still outweighs ALL of the setbacks we’ve experienced. ✨🌱

Tedo is happy with the progress that’s been made over the last couple days (see that smile?!). I’ve had this lil’ guy by my side for more than a decade. He is extremely loyal and he definitely loves his mama. ♥️ I always tell my kids “find you someone to marry that looks at you the way Tedo looks at me”. 😂

When we started our journey from CO to Tennessee, we knew that there was going to be bumps in the road. We had no idea it would start off immediately though. When the RV was hit on the interstate in St. Louis we were all in shock. BUT we were so thankful everyone was ok!! It really puts things in perspective when you’re in an accident. 💛Unfortunately the woman who crashed into us was not insured and it ended up being a worst case scenario sort of situation. The RV was totaled from the impact. 😞 The pictures only show the one side of the damage to it. It was a miracle we were able to still drive it all the way to East Tennessee. 🙌🏽 We pulled up onto our raw land, in a totaled RV that has a mean lean to it, (it’s now named Mean Lean Dean😜) and started this crazy adventure off in a total daze to be quite honest! 😵💫 but here we are - 5 months later and we’re doing the dang thing! In July our driveway was finally done! 👍🏽 It took 6 weeks to finish and ended up costing more than we expected due to some unforeseen circumstances.
