This year's Calcutta International Short Film Festival will conclude with the virtual screening of a short film titled 'Home', the directorial debut of interdisciplinary artist Sujoy Prosad Chatterjee, a film based on the poem of Arundhathi Subramaniam.
Cast: Sudipa Basu, Bidipta Chakraborty, Chandreyee Ghosh, Aparajita Auddy, Sohini Sarkar, Tuhina Das, Suparna Dutta, Subhasree Patel, Ratasree, Debjani Chatterjee, Paramita Saha, and Saurseni Maitra.

Starring Anindya Chatterjee, Rudrarup Mukhopadhyay, and Monalisa Chatterjee Dasgupta, this film is about two lovers who have lost their partners during the pandemic.

Synopsis: "Parenthesis", a short impressionistic poem, liberates the inserted thought from its master. The film's mirrored beginning and ending render the inserted material, not as an explanation or afterthought but rather as the dominant point where the natural and civilized worlds claim their separate space before colliding, as the continual breathing of the sea becomes increasingly intense and urgent. Whatever may be going on in the outside world is kept at bay by the visual parentheses.

Synopsis: Semicolon; to lessen the gap between this and after. The film dwells in a capricious interface between the self and the other. Suspended in an in-betweenness, a motley of interludes, a mirage of lived, imagined, and perceived reality, the film revels in the delirious derailment of the mind when confronted with illness and mortality, in the performance of the city of Varanasi. Traversing mnemonic scapes the character finds himself in an unapologetic spatial and temporal dance. Living his own death, he becomes both- a participant and an observer in the performance.
Moksha is an exit. In its pursuit, does the performance matter?

EVENT DESCRIPTION: CISFF-2020 seeks to enlighten, educate, and entertain the viewers’ community through the exhibition of short length cinema. We believe that cinema is a magical tool that speaks a universal language, enabling the ability to unite people across the globe in an instant.
The CISFF-2020, as an international short film festival, has the objective of creating awareness among the cine-viewers through the projection of short films. We aim to encourage independence as well as professional filmmakers across the globe to share their passion for our platform. The CISFF-2020 primarily focuses on short films of the diverse genres and encourage the filmmakers to submit their projects.
The CISFF-2020 strives to bring filmmakers from all over the world under one set. We continue to represent filmmakers from all levels and experiences.
The members of our jury belong to a network of professionals, with years of experience in the industry. The quality standard of this competition is very high and only awards the best films, so winners of this competition can be very proud of their achievement. We believe our film festival will give filmmakers a chance to showcase their work to a very wide range of audiences.
