I loved this conversation with Tara so much! But I love even more that she reached out to me all those months ago to reconnect. Life is certainly a journey and God is definitely the one who is ordering our steps!

I hope you are as blessed by this conversation with Tara Fuller as I am.
It's truly a good one.

New Guest Blog Post from Author Jann Franklin
"There's Always Room for One More"

When I was a kid I only had a few close friends. That’s all I needed and all I wanted. As

I’ve grown older, I’ve decided that a few close friends are definitely great, but there is

always room for more. Sometimes I choose someone I’ve already met and draw her

closer to become better friends. But sometimes people just fall into my lap, so to

speak. Sometimes I don’t even realize how much I needed this person until they are

actually smack in the middle of my life.

My friend Maggie is twenty-five, a year younger than my oldest son. That means she is

(Ugh!) young enough to be my daughter. I count her mother as a friend with

opportunity for growth. I could never be friends with someone more than a quarter of

a century younger than me! What would we talk about?

I had never considered Maggie as a potential friend. I hardly knew her. Our relationship

had matured to a smile and a wave at church, and a greeting as we stood in line at our

local coffee shop. Until that fateful Sunday morning. Why is it that Sunday mornings

can be so revelationary? (Note: revelationary-Of, or relating to something that causes

a revelation in oneself, or any situation.)

I had begun teaching the Pre-K crowd at our church, with one Sunday under my belt. I’d

taught the kid version of Sunday School for ages, so I wasn’t stressed. I pulled out my

routine and adjusted it for my new class. Then Maggie strolled into my room and

skyrocketed my blood pressure.

I had not asked for a co-teacher, so I was surprised at Maggie’s announcement. “I’m

your new teaching partner. Isn’t that great?” Why did a seasoned teacher need a

helper?

God had a plan, and my “helper” became the best help I never knew I needed. As

Maggie and I got to know each other, I was amazed at how much we have in common.

We both love the TV show “Friends”, we both are kind of nerdy but in a cool way (or in

our minds anyway). We are laid back and don’t stress easily. Maggie had just graduated

college and began her master’s degree, so we talked college and careers. As our

connections deepened, I started to believe we’d known each other for ages. I kept

forgetting she’d barely screeched past twenty.

Chris Craighead Jr. is currently the College Pastor at North Monroe Baptist Church in Monroe, Louisiana. In today's episode we'll unveil a trauma that he experienced as a child and how that event has impacted his life into adulthood.

2 Corinthians 4:8-9 says, "We are afflicted in every way but not crushed; we are perplexed but not in despair; we are persecuted but not abandoned; we are struck down but not destroyed."

I think these verses most accurately depict Chris's journey of faith as he processed the tragic loss of his sister, Caroline at just 9 years old.

This is struck down, but not destroyed kind of story. One filled will loss and hurt, but also with hope and healing. So, take a listen and be encouraged!

Yes and Amen. 🙌🏻

Yes and Amen. 🙌🏻

Ok, so boom: Last year, I recorded the entire Bible in partnership with . Doing it in a studio meant I’d have an engineer there to make sure the sound and all of that was good. A particular task the engineer had to take on was reading the Bible along with me to ensure that I didn’t skip any words. Knowing this, I would pray before every session that God would use His word to do a work in the engineer’s heart. This man right here worked alongside me while I read most of the major and minor prophets. Before each session, I prayed for him hoping that God would grant Him understanding since the prophets ain’t the easiest to make sense of sometimes. On certain days, I’d pick his brain on what he thought about Amos or Habukkkuk just to get a sense of where he was with it. After I finished reading the prophets, my last book to read was Genesis (I had to re-record for reasons not worth mentioning). I asked him what he thought about everything before it and he said something like ,”It’s as if they keep doing the same over and over again. Like they don’t get it.” Which…is literally a synopsis of the entire Old Testament. 😂 I responded by saying ,”Well, the book we’re about to read now will explain the reason no one listens to God.”

That was last year. Today after church, came up to me and told me that while I was reading Genesis, the Lord used His word to draw him. And now, He’s a believer, a member of a local church, and an evangelist. When I say, I wanted to run around that church building! In that studio, I didn’t preach a sermon. I didn’t exegete a text. All I did was READ GOD’s WORD and that alone brought my guy from death and into life.

I say all of that to say, God doesn’t need antics to save souls. If you just give folks His word, you would be amazed at what He can do!

”For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.“
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4‬:‭12‬ ‭

In today’s episode, Krystal talks about the importance of finding mentors in her life. Together we discuss how a body of believers can be the best thing this side of heaven to help fill the gaps in wisdom, guidance, and plain ole support-like a Christian community should be.

Do you have a mentor? Are you mentoring someone? There’s not an age limit to either side!

In this week’s episode you’ll be hearing from me! Coming off the heels of Easter, I thought it would be only fitting to share the beginnings of my faith journey. However, I do feel the need to express a *trigger warning * I do talk in detail about su***de ideation. But…there is also a lot of talk of how God pursued me out of that darkness. ☺️
