The inspiration for the star blanket designs began in my childhood.

Whenever my family and I visited our homelands in Fort Qu’Appelle Valley, Saskatchewan, the mesmerizing star blanket designs were everywhere, leaving a lasting impression on me. One particular memory is receiving a star blanket quilt from one of my Kohkom (grandmother)—it wasn’t just warm; it was a reminder of home, wrapping me in comfort and loving nostalgia.

That star blanket symbolizes connection, representing my community’s love and traditions. The intricate patterns and vibrant colours are visually stunning, speaking to my People’s resilience and creative spirit.

Wanting to capture this timeless beauty in something contemporary and wearable, I created the star blanket accessories—a tribute to the Cree culture that shaped me.

With each piece, I want to share the influence of my culture, encouraging others to embrace the significance of the star blanket, honouring and carrying an element of Cree spirit wherever they go.
