and to think i friend-zoned him after the 3rd date 🥹
both Jon and i had previous marriages, ancient history now. we survived a couple of long-term relationships after that, and just when i was ready to quit online dating, he popped up on . our mutual love for scuba diving caught my attention.
we met up at the town center, and with every first date, i had to have an escape plan - my mom was scheduled to call me in two hours (just in case i needed an emergency exit from a potential creep, haha!). our first date was short but sweet as we couldn't stop talking.
believe it or not, Jon didn't make any moves, not even holding hands 🙄 me, being the over-thinker, concluded he wasn't into me after the 3rd date that we spent the whole.entire.day together!! fed up with the dating scene, i decided to friendzone him 😂😂 hey, having a nearby friend for activities isn't a bad idea, right? since he's active and i'm also active!
surprisingly, we kept texting 📱 and one day, when my friend ditched our plans, i asked jon to hang out. we ended up having a fantastic picnic, watching planes taking off and landing against a stunning sunset. it was then that i mustered the courage to suggest maybe we give this thing a shot 🥲 and boy, am i glad i did!
fast forward to today, we're basically inseparable. within a month of dating, we impulsively booked ridiculously cheap tickets to Peru. it was a "make it or break it" test—spending nine intense days together without much prior bonding time. but guess what? we aced it!
since then, we've embarked on 6 trips to 9 different countries within just two years. our love keeps growing with every adventure we embark on.
so today, i wanted to post these photos from our first trip together Peru and to say happy anniversary to my best friend! 🤍✨
