Headed to Da Lat, Vietnam to witness a breathtaking cloud inversion, but Mother Nature had different plans. 🌧️🌫️ The night we arrived, a gentle rain serenaded our tents, and as morning dawned, we were met with an unexpected twist—no clouds in sight! 🙈

While we missed the inversion, we embraced the spontaneous beauty of nature's ever-changing canvas. 🏞️✨ Rain or shine, it was an unforgettable adventure in the heart of Da Lat! ☔🌄

🌋 Hiking Mt. Bromo - A Journey to Remember 🏞️

The view of this hike honestly topped my all time hikes to date! Witnessing Mt Bromo at sunrise was like looking at a painting! What an incredible adventure! Mt. Bromo, with its otherworldly landscapes, is an absolute must for any nature enthusiast. As the sun kissed the horizon, I stood in awe of the mesmerizing sunrise, making the early morning trek totally worth it - started at mid night from Malang

Here's what you need to know for your future Bromo hike:
🌄 Sunrise Spectacle: Start your hike well before dawn to catch the magical sunrise over the volcanic caldera. It's a sight you'll cherish forever!

🧥 Dress Warm: The pre-dawn temperatures can be quite chilly, so layer up with warm clothing. Don't forget a beanie and gloves. The cafes near the hike have jackets for rent at 35k IDR if you need. That was what I did

🥾 Solid Footwear: A sturdy pair of hiking boots is your best friend on this journey. The terrain can be rugged and slippery due to the volcano ash, you'll want good ankle support

Whether you're a seasoned hiker or just someone looking for an unforgettable adventure, Mt. Bromo has it all. Get ready for a trip that combines natural beauty, thrilling exploration, and a sense of wonder you won't find anywhere else

Would you hike in the dark for this view?

Don't want to wait 2-5+ hours for a heavenly backdrop? Look no further! Lahangan Sweet, nestled in the heart of Bali's east is a Bali's dream come true. 🌿🏖️

How to get there: You'll have to take scooter up the mountain from the Gate of Heaven then pay about 30k IDR to get the jeep up the rest of the way. The road was pretty bumpy but the view is truly worth it! 📷🤩

Would you give this place a visit?

Coral Conservation and Restoration in Mexico

did you know that Coral Reefs are actually the bigger lungs of the earth than trees?
🪸 corals generate 60-70% of the oxygen we breathe
🪸 coral reefs are essential ecosystems in our oceans, providing homes and shelters for a diverse range of marine species
🪸 these reefs also protect coastlines from erosion and offer recreational opportunities like snorkeling and diving

under the dedicated leadership of Dr. Mendez, an individual whose knowledge and passion for coral conservation are nothing short of awe-inspiring, this program has emerged as a pivotal force in the battle to safeguard our oceans

once you take a course with Dr. Mendez to learn about the different coral species, what diseases they can get, how to spot them, how to treat them etc. you will be equipped with the skills to restore damaged corals, breathing new life into these fragile organisms that are home to countless marine species. in addition to restoration efforts, the program emphasizes the critical need for maintaining pristine underwater environments, instilling the importance of keeping platforms and surrounding areas clean. the Cozumel Coral Reef Restoration Program offers a unique opportunity to connect with the ocean's wonders and actively contribute to the preservation of one of the world's most vital ecosystems

check out if you're ever in Cozumel for diving! it's forever my special place on earth 🩵

as a tourist in Egypt, one can't help but notice the charming and heartwarming presence of stray dogs and cats that seem to be a natural part of the landscape. these four-legged inhabitants have carved out their own niche within the bustling streets and vibrant markets, endearing themselves to both locals and visitors alike. their presence adds a unique touch to the Egyptian experience, offering a glimpse into the coexistence of animals and humans in this ancient land

what's striking is the surprisingly good condition of many of these stray animals. compared to some other countries, where strays may suffer from malnutrition and neglect, it's evident that efforts have been made to care for them. many locals provide food, water, and even rudimentary shelter, creating a sense of community care that prevents these animals from becoming emaciated or desperate. this often leads to a harmonious cohabitation, where these animals become part of the scenery without being a nuisance

as you stroll through the historic sites, the pyramids, churches, temples, mosques, vibrant bazaars, and along the picturesque Nile, you'll find yourself stopping to interact with these furry companions. their resilience and adaptability, paired with the local community's compassion, result in a heartening sight that reminds us of the beauty of humanity's connection with animals, regardless of their status as strays

✨Angkor Wat at sunrise ✨

there's a moment, just before the first light breaks the horizon, when the world holds its breath. and then, as if by some ancient spell, the sky awakens in hues of gold and rose, casting an enchanting glow upon the timeworn stones of Angkor Wat. this UNESCO marvel, steeped in history, awaits those who dare to rise early and immerse themselves in its timeless embrace ⏰📸

⏱️ opening hours: 5am-5:30pm

🌟 best time to visit: sunrise – a spectacle that will forever linger in your memory as the sun slowly comes up behind the temple

🛵 if you're riding a scooter, plan to be there around 4:30-4:45am as you have to park, navigate through the dark to walk for about 10-15 minutes to the gate🚶‍♂️it's all part of the adventure!😆
🛺 opting for a tuk-tuk? you'll be dropped right at the gate so you can sleep in 10 more mins – hassle-free access to the magic that unfolds

💳 pass cost: credit cards are accepted
- 1 day: $37
- 3 days: $62
- 7 days: $72
we got the 7 days pass and visited many temples!
• if you’re Khmer (can prove by just speaking a little of the language), you can go for free! •

🌄 pro-tip: explore the temple during daylight the day before first so you can familiarize yourself with the paths. we didn’t and it was very confusing as the temple is HUGGGE and it was dark to navigate! when passing the ticket check, head straight through the front gate – a shortcut that leads to the heart of Angkor Wat🚶‍♀️don't be surprised if your feet find themselves in dew-kissed grass; so remember to wear appropriate shoes 👟 it's all part of the journey to unlock the secrets of this awe-inspiring wonder but oh so worth it! 🌿

is waking up early to watch sunrise at this UNESCO marvel on your list?

if we don’t know you yet, hi!! 👋 we’re and we share Adventure + Travel + Diving + Motivation contents for the lover of the outdoors and oceans 🗺️
🫶 we are so happy you’re here!

🌊 woke up with a longing for the ocean today, and stumbled upon some beautiful posts from Thailand that instantly brought back memories of our incredible time there! 🏝️ 🇹🇭✨ spent two amazing weeks with my girls, island hopping and indulging in mouthwatering street food 🏝️🍜 even over 6 years ago now, the memories we made will forever hold a special place in my heart.

🏖️ oh, Phuket, you stole our hearts with your stunning beaches and vibrant energy! island hopping was an adventure of a lifetime - from the breathtaking views of Phi Phi islands to the mesmerizing Racha island, each stop left us in awe 🚤💙

but you know what they say, sometimes the best memories come from unexpected twists 😄 while Phi Phi island was closed for reservations during our visit, we made the most of every other island we explored! and let me tell you, it was a blast! 🎉🏝️

and of course, how can i forget Bangkok - a city that never sleeps and never stops amazing its visitors! 🌇🌃 from the grandeur of the grand palace to the hustle and bustle of Khao San road, every moment was an adventure on its own. the vibrant markets, the mouthwatering street food, and the magnificent temples - it all felt like a beautiful dream 🏯🛍️

i miss the feeling of wanderlust that Thailand awakened within me, and i'm already dreaming of the day i can return to this mesmerizing country. until then, i'll cherish these cherished memories and look forward to the next escapade! 🥰💫

and to think i friend-zoned him after the 3rd date 🥹

both Jon and i had previous marriages, ancient history now. we survived a couple of long-term relationships after that, and just when i was ready to quit online dating, he popped up on . our mutual love for scuba diving caught my attention.

we met up at the town center, and with every first date, i had to have an escape plan - my mom was scheduled to call me in two hours (just in case i needed an emergency exit from a potential creep, haha!). our first date was short but sweet as we couldn't stop talking.

believe it or not, Jon didn't make any moves, not even holding hands 🙄 me, being the over-thinker, concluded he wasn't into me after the 3rd date that we spent the whole.entire.day together!! fed up with the dating scene, i decided to friendzone him 😂😂 hey, having a nearby friend for activities isn't a bad idea, right? since he's active and i'm also active!

surprisingly, we kept texting 📱 and one day, when my friend ditched our plans, i asked jon to hang out. we ended up having a fantastic picnic, watching planes taking off and landing against a stunning sunset. it was then that i mustered the courage to suggest maybe we give this thing a shot 🥲 and boy, am i glad i did!

fast forward to today, we're basically inseparable. within a month of dating, we impulsively booked ridiculously cheap tickets to Peru. it was a "make it or break it" test—spending nine intense days together without much prior bonding time. but guess what? we aced it!

since then, we've embarked on 6 trips to 9 different countries within just two years. our love keeps growing with every adventure we embark on.

so today, i wanted to post these photos from our first trip together Peru and to say happy anniversary to my best friend! 🤍✨

introducing Kibou - pronouns 'kee-bow', meaning 'hope' in Japanese. 🐶❤️ he's our beloved covid dog and one of the biggest reasons we’re not allowed to embark on long-term travels 😜 these adorable photos capture his puppy days, but now he's a proud 3-year-old! he still adores playing fetch and waiting for us to accidentally drop that piece of steak, just like the day we brought him home.

stay tuned as we introduce our second fur-ball next week! 🐾✨
