Another quick afternoon of cooking. Four chicken thighs (bones removed after cooking), 1 chunked apple and some chicken organs cooked below the vegetables which included carrots and green beans. Makes 9 cups and each cup is split between the dogs at each meal.

Making the dogs their food for the week. Top steamer basket includes broccoli, potatoes, green beans, carrots, and an apple. Bottom of pot has chicken, organ meat (heart, gizzard, and liver) - chicken, and garlic. Add a bit of water and cook for 4 hours. If I’m using breast meat, I will cook it for longer but since I only have thighs, I will have to strain the chicken once I’m done and they only have to cook for four hours because they’re bone in. 

Once cooked and cooled, I will remove all the bones and store serving sized portions in plastic containers that can be frozen and thawed on an as needed basis.

At meal time they get half commercial brand dog food and half home-cooked food to which I will add an egg yolk and a small spoon of Greek yogurt.
