When I first discovered techno music in 2013, I remember going to one of Chris's sets at Berghain and thinking what perfection that music selection and journey was! This set was recorded last weekend at Club Basis in Utrecht, I took this opportunity to add in my currently favourite club-focused tracks, delivered through a journey of around one hour. A cherished ally of the label and an incredible DJ/producer, Truncate has served up a killer hour of fresh new music, including some upcoming material on his superb, eponymous imprint.

We probably don’t need to say a lot about Truncate. A friend of the label (check his ‘Intact EP’ from 2022 and his ’The Heights’ collab with drumcell and Chris Liebing), one of the most consistently excellent talents in techno and a big part of the LA scene via his Observe parties with Drumcell, he’s a bit of a legend.

Very straightforward, he sums his mix up neatly - “a mix of mostly new tracks and some unreleased material forthcoming on Truncate”, which includes tracks from Mark Broom, Alexander Johansson, Talismann, The Advent, Rebecca Delle Piane, and more.

Welcome, Berlin-based Canadian Nicolas Bougaïeff, to the CLR Podcast. Known for genre-bending sets at Berghain and co-founding Liine alongside Richie Hawtin, Bougaïeff’s commitment to pushing techno’s boundaries is unmatched. First releasing in 2013, he’s now featured on labels such as Ellum and Mute Records with his album ‘Begin Within’, proving his versatility as an electronic artist as well as his expertise in sound design.
